7) Jakub Blaszczykowski (Borussia Dortmund) The 80,000 crowd packed inside the Signal Iduna Park were chanting the Polish midfielder’s name throughout the second half as he put in a very polished display. A possible contender for ‘Man of the Match’ in a team where there were a host of top performances. From goal.com
I was watching that match live and I didn't hear a thing like that. I asked three friends who were there. None of them say there was any chanting of Kuba's name. Kuba was no doubt one of the best players along with Dede, Ziegler, Tinga, and Petric. No doubt about it. However, the only guy I heard get his name chanted by the fans was Dede when he was substituted. Which was right because Dede was easily BVB's Man of the Match. Followed by Ziegler, Petric and then Kuba. Kuba, from what he is showing NOW will get his name chanted quite a bit. But from what I heard and what friends who were at the stadium tell me, it didn't happen Friday night....... He DID get his name chanted during the Cottbus match. A friend did confirm that, but not against Bremen. On another note, Dede got Kicker's "Man of the Match" award and was named to Kicker's Bundesliga Team of the Week along with Ziegler.
Awesome win. I'm peeved cause my DVR had the wrong information for the match on Friday (Guatemalan Football) and I didn't get to see the best match by BVB in some time. Maybe Gol.TV will have a replay this week...
Like I said, he's going to get his name chanted quite a bit. It just didn't happen last week. Maybe the guy mistook "Dede" for "Kuba".......
LOL!! He'll get plenty more chances to type about the fans chanting Kuba's name. He's starting to come along nicely.
Absoutely. Thought I think the next time I'm flying over is for Euro 2008 in Zürich next summer, despite not having a decent source for tickets yet. I'd love to see a match at Westfalen (Signal Iduna- ugh!) preferably when 1860 make the jump back up to the Bundesliga.
