When you say the 4 other games will be on GOL TV are you referring to live games only? In the past GOL has shown a couple games on delay. I know they won't want to undercut their own ppv by saying they will show stuff on delay, but is there any chatter about any of the games beyond these 4 appearing on delay?

And what about DirecTV? They running ppv? Not that I will order it since I am generally against ppv (although my new Deportes addition is basically functioning in the same fashion since I'm paying $20 per month just to see CL games that don't appear on Setanta, ESPN, or ESPN Classic (perhaps 2 per week). Take care.

In the past, a couple of different distributors held the rights to the games. Both packages ended up showing games on a couple days delay, one package on Telemundo, and the other, the one that DishNetwork broadcast, was shown on GOLTV. With SCP pairing with GOLTV in producing all the qualifiers this time around, I am optimistic that you will be able to see these matches on GOLTV... if you don't mind watching on delay.

No I don't really care about 'not-live' in case of games like this. Often I can not watch matches live any way because of working or being out so Im used to watching many games later on delay. As long as I can see them later at least I'm happy so thanx for good news. :)

They will. 1 game each round. 18 total. That's what they got in return from the company for helping them distribute the rights.

And seems like this is exclusive with Dish PPV. Just like the 2006 WCQ, Dish handled the signal and the Goltv crew narrated the games. Seems like GolTV are closer to Dish than with DirecTV.

I am a bit confused with GOLTV's coverage of the qualifying matches. I have been seeing a few ads on GOLTV for the world cup qualifying, and they say they have every game. I read on this board that some people say that they only have one game per round.
If that is true then maybe there will be a few games taped and one game live. Could someone verify what the reality is?

GolTV will offer one game live each round.
I am assuming they will show repeats of all the other games each round.
Furthermore, if you have DN, you can watch all the games on PPV.

GolTV will also have a comprehensive highlights and analysis show of all the action once the round of games are over.

Since you live in New York, you can watch them at Nevada's Smiths. All the games will be free except the ones involving Argentina or Brasil.

So comparing the schedule listed at the beginning of this thread and Simon's on-screen detective skills, it seems that Paraguay v. Peru is the only match on the opening day that won't be shown either live or on delay on Gol. Am I reading that correctly? Hopefully this match will show up at some point. Will any of these games be sold to Telemundo for delayed broadcast? It seems like Telemundo picks up some of Gol's games (e.g., Bundesliga games featuring Mexican internationals but has also sold some games to Gol that appear on 3 day delay). Take care.
