A good counterbalance to the gnashing of teeth on both sides of the "kool aid" debate on this board (myself included). I think I'm going to relax, and just be a fan for a few weeks. ;)

I didn't go last night - were the names Denilson or Blanco ever mentioned over the PA system to the crowd? It seems that would be free marketing to a captive and potentially receptive audience. Don't we have games against both players remaining this season?

    Why would they mention Blanco?

If they weren't, drop an email to Lizz Summers with the Revs expressing your concerns.

I'm sure the Mexicans at the game know that, but he wont be playing in Gillette this season unless its the playoffs.

true but maybe some did not know he played in the league and it might interest them? I don't know...I am reaching I know...

this friendly reminds me of Revs v Celtic last summer...a bunch of people can make it out to watch a friendly midweek but wont attend a Revs game on a Saturday night

I had a different reaction. Those guys were AMAZING. [sexism]Watching them was like having a date with Catherine Zeta-Jones of her Zorro era. In comparison, a Revs game is like speed-dating with the current incarnation of Brittany Spears[/sexism] And that doesn't even touch the atmosphere that the Brasilieros bring out. I support the Revs. I love going to games. I bring friends and try to build their enthusiasm. I'm not sure I would want to bring someone who was at Gillette last night back to the game on Saturday. The contrast on the field and in the stands is kinda stark.

The contrast on the price of parking and the game ticket is relatively stark as well.

Fair point. The Revs are a very good value for a sporting event.

Well hey if you spent a semester in Brazil, doesn't that make you Brazilian?

    No, no announcements like that.

FWIW, I don't think the Revolution organization was involved with the game production at all (the PA announcer was definitely not the usual guy [thankfully]). I think the Kraft organization leased out the facility and was involved in some of the ticketing operations, but that was probably about it.

Since the parking cost was ridiculously high, I suspect that Gillette Stadium only received a split of the revenues.

As for the crowd, it was a vast sea of yellow jerseys. I can't imagine that Brazil could get more of their countrymen out to see them anywhere else, other than Brazil itself.

I think the Revs strategy is to go after the thriving local Gambian community instead.
