i don't get this...is Portugal not considered a darkhorse anymore because we were vice champions and it's a reflection of our actual strenght? Or because we're sucking lately and therefore we're not considered a danger?...

LOL at Poland. They aren't going anywhere. They will perform their usual choke job when the big games arrive.

The Czechs are getting old, and I think Sweden is overrated. Can they make the final four? Perhaps, but I would put my money on Croatia.

i would say croatia..i am croatian but they are playing there best football since the mid-90's when they had great players..this team doesnt have the great players that team did but it has some very good young talent in eduardo, modric who will be playing for a big club soon and corluka who is an excellent young defender..croatia plays attacking football with alot of heart and passion ever since slaven bilic took over as coach after the world cup..

Simply Poland, it's not run by a cocky overconfident Polish coach anymore as when the actual tournament starts, he goes on vacation. We actually have a World Class coach who knows what hes doing now.

when italy plays scotland, toni will be back for another brace, mark it.
either that, or the good memories from the past allow pirlo to bag a couple. I can't pick which one.:p

It wouldn't really shock me to see either Poland or Croatia in the semis. Croatia is a team that is capable of making the finals if things break right for them.

Gotta be Crotia for me. Not saying this just because they are above England in the group but they look very very good. Great passers of the ball too which is nice they passed England of the park and havent conceaded much either only 2 more then England and only 1 more then Russia. It will be very interesting to see how they play against England at Wembley. This will be a bigger test then facing England at home.

Plus well done Scotland. Euro 2008 would be much better if the scots are involved. Then we English wont be the only people getting as drunk as possible lol:D. If Scotland win against Ukraine at home and Georgia away then there probs thru i reckon. Allthough a draw in italy mite come in handy just to be certain lol.

If scotland ties italy, they got a real good shot to go through, but if they lose, then unless france drops points in one of their three easy games, scotland is in trouble, so, scotland wants a tie now at least versus italy, imo. the good thing for them is the match is in scotland, not italy.

ok.... i said we were going to split the finalists. i never stated which one would join us.

i don't think going to ukraine in november needing 3 points is as easy a game as you seem to think my friend :)

also, italy at H is our final match. by then we'll know exactly what we need to do. as you say a tie against italy may be all we need as our head to head record against france is superior but if france go to the ukraine knowing they need to win and hope for the best then that's still a tough shout imo..

it ain't easy or guaranteed, but then again, given that the other two games are faroe away and georgia at home iirc, france should go to ukraine only two points behind scotland if scotland wins their next two games, so a loss versus italy and you have to hope and pray for a draw or loss by a france team that will have everything to play for, against a ukraine team that by that time will most likely will have nothing whatsoever to play for except pride, and in the modern game, that doesn't mean a heckuva lot. :)
not easy by any means, but I personally wouldn't bet against france.

Have to say Croatia, only Germany and Italy imo are better than in international football at the moment. They are in great form and are playing great football. Was good to see them beat England 2-0 easily and win fairly comfortably 4-3 in Israel (should have won by more).

Eduardo is flying and ya can always count on goals with him in the team.

    FORZA HRVATSKA!!!

Surprised at all the votes for Sweden! I mean they're a solid team and all, but can anyone realistically picture them as going beyond the quarters at best? I can't. Croatia has higher potential and it wouldn't be a terrible shock to see them in the semis or even the finals with the form they have now.

We're young, we're talented, we're fired up... I sense something very nice happening. I have a strong gut feeling we could do really something big in the summer of 2008. But let's first not mess up the rest of the qualifiers...

I'm not surprised at all. Ibrahimovic - Elmander are probably the best forward duo in Europe at the moment. Those players can alone win games for Sweden against any team in the world. Isaksson is a quality keeper and Sweden have a solid defence and good midfielders as well(Freddie Ljungberg, Kennedy, Wilhelmsson, Kallstrom, Linderoth etc.)

I wouldn't be surprised if they went beyond the Quarters. However you need luck as well.

These countries aren’t that good at all. They won’t do shit at Euro2008. France, Italia (both will make it) or Germany will win it and probably only 1 of them. Anyway who or what is Poland? Sweden have Ibra although he is no Pele. Their defends is shit and midfield is overrated and not in Balance at all. Croatia is decent and has some class talented players but that isn’t going to win you shit. Czech Rep is a very old shadow of the team they were back in 2004.

Portugal is the only darkhorse if they make it.
