I think cacho started because of the fact he is more oriented inside the box than Gio!

It felt like a loss, but I did edit it before you posted it.

An America fan wanting to play a boring style of soccer...doesn't surprise me.

    I dont see how!

the first goal was of a Corner Kick!

the Second was aMistake from our defender.

and the third one was a mix of counterattack and mistake of coverage!

that third one can be considered a d-mid mistake but I'm not talking about defense I'm talking about offense...

i think i agree with lyrical on this one

because brazil played with ronnie and kaka, plus two forwards, it would only make sense to play with two defensive mids. it gave us success in the first game. we lost this one, not because of the tactics used, those tactics gave us success in copa america. we lost because of defensive mistakes

some people are going to say, well, we lost to argentina with two defensive mids. but, if my memory serves correctly, it was Oswaldo that cost us the game, with a huge blunder. that has nothing to do with tactics, or hugo's coaching, just a mental mistake by a player

you people that are blaming hugo need to think twice, at least. i'm not saying you're wrong, because everyone has their own opinion, but at least think about what others are saying before ignorantly saying things like "OMG UR AN AMERICA FAN NO WONDER YOU THINK THAT." don't be an idiot. Hugo didn't coach the players to completely leave someone unmarked on a corner, or to give the other team an assist.

Good game Good game glad to see some decent soccer finally.

    What was up with Nery?

For Brazil Ronaldinho was mvp because of the danger he put and the cross. Kaka just netted it but Dinho was all over.

For Mexico again Ochoa no doubt dude need to go to Europe and play for Atletico Madrid har har har!

Disappointing loss. Some people want to blame Hugo and the tactics but the bottom line is that the players made the mistakes. Everyone can have their beef with Hugo for all I care, but he didn't make Rafa fack up and give out an assist. The set piece goal, well that's been a problem with whomever is at the helm of the team. Some times shit happens, and tonight it was a big churro.

I can understand why some of you are pissed about Gio and Vela coming in so late in the game and the only thing I can draw from that, is that Hugo wanted to win tonight. The guys are untested with the NT and the Panama game is probably what they were called up for. Had that game not been a complete waste, then maybe he would've given them more time if what he saw against Panama was promising.

All that said, this is Brazil and they were bound to get out of their funk against us at some point or another.

The players I rated highest for this game are Guardado and Memo. Guardado was his usual self offensively, but where he impressed me most was on his hustle defensively. He won the ball back on the Brazilian side a few times and when he couldn't do that, he usually tangled the player up long enough for help to come. Nice game from him.

MEMO! Dude was balls to walls again! Have to agree with whoever stated the guy will probably end up being Mexico's all time best goalie. They put three on him, but he was put in bad situations on most of them. He saved shots that some of our keepers in the past wouldn't have. 6-1 without him.

The next tier guys in my opinion are Salcido, Arce, Castro and Torrado. I usually don't rate Torrado all that high, but I thought he had a good game. His passes didn't seem as weak as usual and I can't count how many times I saw the guy disrupt the Brazilian attack. I've seen some peeps here blame the first goal on him, but in all honesty, I was on the phone with a friend still smiling from the first goal and getting another beer, so I didn't see the play.

I've seen many bashing on mi amigo Salcido, but I thought he was great defensively. Nothing to brag about on the offensive end, but not awful there either. I remember one play at about the thirteen minute mark in the second half where Brazil was called for an offsides. It was a pretty big offside gap but Salcido still managed to beat the Brazilian to the ball. Had the ref facked the call up, it wouldn't have mattered. I was impressed big time on that play.

Arce is another one getting bashed heavily. He wasn't great, but the guy did his job. He's a starter in my book. Always has his head in the game and the guy looked like he felt comfortable. I also could've sworn he got his head on the ball in the box, but I'm not sure. Shit went over the bar I think, but he was where he was supposed to be.

Castro also did a great job. I'm starting to become a believer. There really isn't a point in the game where I can say I ever had a problem with him being on the field. Even Salcido had Magallon save his ass in the first half at one point when Kaka' got by him.

Below these guys is Rafa. The guy was absolutely brilliant for 99% of the game. He would be right behind Memo and Guardado, but the guy seemed to have an extra chromosome on that play.

An honorable mention goes to Magallon. He did his job, but I'm still not convinced.

Nery and Cacho get a mention because of the goal, but the rest of the game almost nullifies whatever they did on that play. I'm still hesitant about not grouping them in with the rest of the guys who where for the most part nonexistant.

Carlos and Gio get a pass. There were moments where I thought they might do something, but they just haven't played with these guys enough and twenty minutes is not enough time to even consider these guys for evaluation. It would have been unreal though if Gio had put that header in.

Everyone else....either didn't do much or I was too busy paying attention to the guys above.

The game was nothing special. Gio and Chuck Vela didn't do anything in the 2 minutes they played, and like Eduarditto said Marquez was the MVP of the match because he gave Brasil the win.

Are there really that many Brasileiros in Massachussetts???

I liked the way they played tonight.
They had instances of a good defense with the blind side double teams.

Memo Ochoa played a great game, even though he had 3 goals against him....he made some amazing saves.

Nery was almost non existent tonight except for his give n go to Guardado.

....is it me or is Nery's attitude like Cuauh's, esta bien bravo el guey y tambien como que se tira como Cuauh, i guess them being roommates this summer really rubbed off on Nery.

I would have liked to see Gio play more...

Arce is another player that is starting to catch my attention, that free kick a la porteria was nice.

Cant wait to see how they learned from this game and how they come out in the next game.

The only positive about this game was that it was a friendly and no points were in play, other than that the score was 3-1 which cannot be good no matter how you see it, oh and yeah we had two 18 year olds playing for 15 minutes a + as well............:(

    Arce is crap......

This should be good experience for our squad. Like many have said this was a friendly and in the last 8 games between Brasil and Mexico Brasil has only beaten us twice. Not bad.

Once again a defendor ********s up. Bad clearence from Marquez and we couldnt tie it... Thats what it all came down to. Mexico hung with Brasil for the most part, we even took out Robinho i didnt hear his name much in the 2nd half. But stopping Kaka, Robinho, and Dinho is pretty dam hard.

Hugo should get this team more friendlys against quality opponents. We need the experience.

I think this is something we can all agree on. No more games against Panama or Venezuela. We should be playing teams like Brasil, Argentina, Spain, England, and Germany.

I thought Magallon and Rafa played well. Not too many mistakes and I dont really consider the second goal a Rafa mistake more than an unlucky clearance. Rafa was readin Brazil's plays and he and magallon saved us a bunch of time. Salcido played a good first half and then went into a lapse in the second where he was not himself. I noticed it after he went down with a knee for a few minutes. After that he didnt seem as focused and even gave a bad pass back to Rafa where Robinho almost stole it.

Correa was not as involved as he usually is, almost seemed intimidated by the Brazilians. Torrado was his usual self, giving it all he has. Arce tried really hard but its hard when youre missin more offensive midfielders. Cacho was not very involved aside from his goal.

I HATE Nery's attitude. Someone said it earlier, he reminds me of cuah with his temper. He needs to not worry so much about getting fouled, gettin calls and needs to focus more on the game. Not everyone guardin you is gonna foul you Nery, get that through your head. The kid argues WAY too much. He was a nonfactor in this game and that's because Brazil had him scouted and covered. Nery needs to understand this and learn to pass the ball more often, especially against teams that have him covered.

I was glad to see Gio and Vela play, even for the few minutes they got. Although both didnt touch the ball alot, they didnt turn it over and actually looked somewhat comfortable out there. I thought Vela looked fast as well.

I agree Rafa had a great game... He messed up once and it cost us. sometimes the ball doesnt bounce our way. Lucky break for kaka by the way he almost missed hehe. But yeah if it wasnt for those two errors we would of had a draw.

I honeslty liked the way Vela looked, he looked very confident and kinda had that instinct that Guardado posseses. I would have love to see Vela and Gio come in the 15min of the 2nd half.

It was a good game untill we started messing up. I asked my dad how long will it be before our defense gets tired or we mess up.

And soon enough Rafa's clearence was weak. OH well it was a friendly and i was really happy to see Rafa, Salcido, Ochoa, Guardado, Vela, Nery, and Gio out there. Cant wait for the WCQ matches....

And a nice match between Spain and Mexico, we would learn a lot. :D

They can setup up the match in Germany or Spain most of our players are out there anyway ;).
