I was filming a U-16 girls game this weekend and the linesman went crazy and started cussing out the coach... I have never seen anything like this before. It is usually the coach who loses it. I have to warn everyone that the content is age sensitive due to language. I PM'd a mod but have gotten no answer, so I am going to go ahead and give the link. Wow, he sure did lose it! Refereeing is such a damn thankless job, and they generally get treated so poorly, but, wow, that guy shouldn't be doing it all! What the heck did the coach/parents say to this guy to get him so riled up? Also, the center ref. seemed to do absolutely nothing, when he should have stepped in on both occassions.
I don't know exactly what they said... There were a few bad calls made by the center ref, but they weren't horrible. It seemed to me like the center ref had experience with the linesman and didn't really want to deal with another incident. After the linesman went back to the line, he raised his flag for a foul and the center ref ignored him. Then I think the coach said something to him and that was what set him off. I'm not sure though... The center ref was a decent guy, I talked to him before the game. He also did an OK job besides not switching the linesmen, as he should have done. The other one didn't even really speak english.
