Rookie of the Year - Adam Cristman - 3rd place Defender of the Year - Micheal Parkhurst - 2nd Place and in a very surprising turn of events MLSnet.com has placed Steve Nicol as 2nd choice for Coach of the Year! RRREV IT UP
I'm a bit surprised that Shalrie is so high in the MVP race to be honest. Sure he's been good, but not as strong as he was last year and the league has improved. I'm also completely pissed off that Parkhurst isn't top of the defender race. He has been the only bright spot in our defense. Cristman should get the rookie award in my opinion, but it's a tough batch to beat. Oh, and...
The picture you're showing shows Soehn as second, not Nicol. And to be honest, I think they've got it right. No question in my mind the leader is correct, and then Soehn taking over a team is right for second. Morrow in third is a bit of a surprise, but he has had to deal with quite a few injuries this year. Cristman in third for ROY is a surprise. But Edu really has been fantastic for TFC. And Cristman's numbers for a striker ... really aren't all that special. Robinson ... hell, his team has given up like 2 goals on the year (so it feels). No surprise there, even if he's a hack. BTW, Emilio for MVP? I was told he wasn't going to be as good as Cristman? What is this nonsense?
Gotcha. Also ... anyone notice that of the MVP candidates they're listing, four of the six are new players to the league. Just shocking considering that SIs are flops a majority of the time. Why aren't there any Revs rookies on that list? It's a conspiracy I tell ya! Heh ... just having fun ... KAG calm down.
I think they are all pretty fair and accurate. Roughly what I would have picked so far if I was in charge. I think it is a toss-up between Emilio and Angel, but Emilio is just spectacular.
5 goals and 4 assists on a team that has Taylor Twellman and Pat Noonan is impressive to me. He's actually played about a half longer than Noonan, but that would make it that much more impressive to me. To each his own I suppose.
Don't get me wrong, he's been a damn good player. Just to me, he's not been as effective as Edu has. On top of that, Cristman really hasn't done much recently, which probably doesn't help either in this process that MLS is doing (what have you done for me recently).
I don't get to see many Toronto games, but the ones I have seen, I haven't really seen what all the buzz is about. To be honest, all of Toronto's team looks like shit (minus that month spree where they went on a rampage), their midfield especially. I've yet to see the controlling, dominant midfielder people speak of. Maybe I'm just catching him at the wrong times, but I feel that when Cristman comes in, you shake things up. When Edu's on, it seems as if you're just getting a central midfielder on a team that has no midfield at all. But as I said earlier, to each his own.
Pffsstt, we all know that fissures and minor earthquakes occur wherever he steps, converting the compact soil into a much softer product, and he slips. It has nothing to do with his balance and you know it!
