I won by ca. 50 runs. First time I've ever played on a dusty pitch by choice. :)

Sarge really got it going today, going for 150, and his opening partner went for a century as well. Now I just need his form to start coming around so he's back to usual standards against good bowling...

So the only viable limit is a few levels below that one.

That's why they don't play the games on paper. :D
<insert tired old line about how match ratings are just a guide here>

i think my team just loses when they bat first (two league losses and cup match). i've noticed the ratings in battrick are usually true to form (if you are ahead in most then you win, if you are behind in most you lose), but that has just been in my matches.

in training news, my 17yo popped to strong batting! :D

next week should be good. my 19 yo bowling trainee should become remarkable/wonderful in bowling and my 19 yo wk trainee should be quality/exceptional in batting!

just beat #1 in my series (i'm #2) so we are even on points, but he's got a better NRR. i can't believe I won. chased down 255 to win by 3 wickets. he's beaten me the last 4 times we've played (including bowling me out for like 25 and 60)

    sweet. me too

lets get everyone back and some new people!

i really hope I can stay up. spent almost all my money on a wonderful/remarkable bat, so money is tight right now. wages went up and I'm not getting the max 80k in interest. thank god for these 20/20 matches.

I don't know if I'll be happier with you in the series vs. Banks. :)

I should check and see who's replacing Mud Poodles. This past season, they really lapped the field in the series, after a run where there wasn't much separating the top four (and I came out on top twice).

I got jobbed in BT20. The runaway leader (and only team to beat me) lost to the eventual second-place side on the final day. Meanwhile, despite bowling match ratings better than anyone else in the group, I never bowled nearly as well against the weak sides as the two teams that went through.

And if I'd only logged in during the wee hours, I would have seen that berg released the nats and I could have inserted Sarge into the lineup... though I still think it would have been a tall order to raise my NRR by eight runs.

sweet, didn't notice we would be in the same series!

i hope my bats can step up to the plate. Once my wk trainee pops again in batting, conc, and stamina I think he is done with training and hopefully he can score lots and lots of runs.

accepted the friendly challenge. i'll probably be playing the same lineup as my last friendly (i.e. not very good), as an fyi.

Do we get training credit for the 20/20 matches?

If so, I'll be using a mix of a couple of starters who didn't play today (note that includes Sarge) and backups who I'd like to try to get their form up a bit.

Also, your match ratings vs. Cow Shot are good enough to do adequately in II.3. I have equal or better batting, but my bowling isn't up to quite the same level.

Looks to be an interesting season upcoming, both you and Tythe Barn are bringing in remarkable top orders, my top order is about there depending on Sarge's form and the team fitness, and we're getting either Death Knights or Doobie Bombers replacing Mud Poodles.

good to hear. i'm hoping to stick around in II, unlike last time.

not sure what you mean by training credit. do you mean does training happen during 20/20? the answer is yes

Does playing in 20/20 count for training (basically, for form)? That was my question.

Assuming that it does, I'll rest most of my starters, but there are a couple (Sarge most notably) that sat out the last 20/20 for PFL or other reasons that need time in the friendly.

Edit: Actually, it's only Seargeant that hasn't played yet this week, aside from national duty which I don't think is credited to his training for form purposes.

i'm thinking it does count towards form, since it is an official match.

play whoever you want, i'll just play my scrubs!

Aside from Sarge, you've got my scrubs as well. And depending on your bowling, he may not matter too much if everyone else falls. :)
