Re: Shield? The team is named after the Puget Sound, so being from there, they are Sounders. Like you'd be a Perthian or Perther.
http://pugetsounders.com/ "Sounders," or "Puget Sounders," are people who live along the beautiful Puget Sound in western Washington, USA. There is also a "Sounder" commuter train. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sounder_commuter_rail "Sounders," as in "Seattle Sounders," are an American soccer team with two distinct histories: NASL 1974-1983 USL 1994-present Other links: www.SeattleSounders.net www.GOALSeattle.com/SoccerMuseum.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Sounders http://www.psp.wa.gov/ http://www.pugetsoundscape.citymax.com/page/page/4432309.htm http://www.pugetsoundersrv.org/ http://pugetsoundersaomc.com/

What some Sounders did this summer: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003865079_danny02.html
I was watching the A-league highlights on FSC and one of the games had a TON of seagulls flying around the pitch. It looked kinda funny, but I thought it gave the team/stadium a lot of character, because you could instantly tell it was a coastal team. I wonder, does this happen at Qwest? Living so far away I've only been to a handful of games.
Not really. The most I've ever seen in Qwest, at one time, was probably about 20, or so. And they were spread all around the stadium.
sounderfan forgot to mention that the venerable Capt. Sig Hansen from Deadliest Catch on discovery channel is a sounder.
Actually a good portion of those Captains call Puget Sound home. Sig and Edgar are the coolest, however.
Hey 1 question what will happen to the current sounders team are they just MLS players now or are they making a new team?
