Imagine the possibilities if this could be expanded. The world's most abundant resource could become the worlds biggest energy source.

The key is how much energy it takes to generate the radio waves. It ain't cheap and it's hard to transmit power with them (see Tesla coil).

This reminds me of that cool video where the guy puts lit matches in a microwave and generates clouds of burning plasma.

I'm not impressed, as long as I still have my "World's Largest Source of Natural Gas" briefs! :D

This story first hit this past spring and there was a lot of skepticism, especially since the guy wasn't totally confident how the process worked. It is compelling and encouraging to hear that a scientist has been able to replicate the experiment.

Depending on the efficiency of the process (radio waves aren't exactly cheap to generate), this obviously has huge potential, but likely not for at least a decade on any scale, and certainly not commercially for a long time.

ITs the perfect opportunity to put Exxon in charge of the FCC.

This would also take care of the rising ocean waters problem and save mankind!

    Brilliant!

So what? All you need is the fire from the salt water to give you all the energy you need. Simple really......;)
