I'm sure all fingers are crossed for some good news tonight (except for, perhaps, a few paranoids in Seattle and Philly).

For those who plan to attend the meeting tonight, please try to get some video footage to post on YouTube. If you haven't a video camera, then at least grab some frames with your camera/mobile and post here.

Those of us who cannot be there would love to see a bit of it after the fact.

I don't own a camcorder, but I will definitely be bringing my digital camera.

    COME ON JEFF COOPER!

Here's a link to the agenda for tonight. Agenda

Looks like the vote is the first item on the agenda (See Public Hearing section)

Also, regarding video of the meeting, there is video of the last two council meetings on the city's website (see the right hand column), so I am guessing they may tape this one as well. Plus, I'm sure it will be on the news tonight.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend, but I will be there in spirit.

Show Collinsville that the GCSC is a class act and very passionate about MLS in STL!

I know this is a very exciting moment for all of us.

But please respect the City of Collinsville and the City Council process.

I would take a cue from Cooper, but generally it is expected that people do not cheer at such meetings.
If Cooper does it then go ahead.

Along the same lines, if the vote is the first item on the agenda, it would be expected that you remain for the entire meeting. If there is a break or if Cooper leaves, then we can go. But do not get up and leave during active discussion please.

Whoa! There is a ton of stuff under new business! The vote might be first, but this meeting looks long. Some of the new business looks soccer related.....

Ummm.....could we leave after the vote? Seriously, that agenda is twice the size of the last one.

If there is a break, leaving is fine. But if the meeting is actively continuing, it would be very disrespectful to just get up and leave.

We don't want anyone to be able to say anything negative about St. Louis Soccer United, GCSC, or soccer fans generally.

Just as a follow up, all the soccer fans were very respectful, and the city council, to their credit, had a break after the last of the soccer-related parts (which was already almost 1 1/2 hours, with all parts of the deal passing with either a 4-1 or 5-0 vote.)

We did get one mean look from a teacher or something after the "Joggernaut" remark. Other than that I think everyone enjoyed my "old man fight" chant after the crazy guy spoke.
