Hey all, I'm going to be in Denver next weekend for the Monolith festival at Red Rocks, and I'm looking for a pub to watch the Spurs v Arsenal game on saturday morning. I see a few pubs on soccerbars.com, but I'm interested to know the prime spot where there will be a good crowd of Gooners. Thanks in advance! --Mike
DO NOT MISS The Bulldog, its Denvers best soccer bar, period. Food atmosphere, crowd, etc. Though that game kicks off at 6:25am Mountain Time, and I am not aware of them opening before 7am. I am sure someone on this board will know. Its a good bar to watch the Gunners kick Spurs ass, (though that Berbatov would look good in Arsenal red, hmm and so would Bale). 1 nil to the Arsenal..............
Hep to the Bulldog. Put it this way....of the three "official" partner bars for the Colorado Rapids,The British Bulldog is the only one that doesn't give the 15% discount to supporters and the Food is scary expensive...BUT....having said that,All still prefer it to the others. Take this last Sat. for example...Rapids away game viewing at the Bulldog was packed with the Rugby folk...loads of people, hot chicks though the guys can be real knobs..most were complaining saying "soccer sucks" change the channel and turn the juke box back on....F*** no though...Issac stuck to his guns and the Rapids faithfull enjoyed the full 90 at Denvers best soccer pub. C-Firmers may all be playing league match that morning but others I'm very sure will be there.....Cheers.
So I checked and my hotel is about 15 mins from the bulldog! will I need to get there super early to get a seat? I'll be there to watch Sp*rs get crushed.
Super early for a seat?? ..well wouldn't go that far...great place but on that day it may not be so packed...call first to confirn # is 303-295-7974
call ahead, if they are going to be open at 7am you will still miss most of the first half, as soccertv.com has the thrashing to begin at 6:25am. I will probably watch the 1rst half at home then scoot down to the dog for 2nd with a Fullers and English breakfast.
Just to stir the pot and irk a few more people (tee hee), seems to me that this type of info is what should be in a stickied thread at the top of the forum. Not the "thrashing [of Spurs]" stuff but the best local footy pub stuff.
Not to change your thread, but anyone know of soccer-friendly pubs in Fort Collins? I know they have lots of local micro-brew hangouts & cool bars, but have only been a couple of times so don't know the town too well. We are seriously thinking of relocating there sometime next year - wife grew up in FC. Can't wait to check out the BullDog too next time out to CO.
Visitors buy hosts pints. Come on you Spurs!!! I'll be in Texas this weekend, otherwise I'd come heckle you.
Called the British Bulldog and they wont be open at 6:30am, according to the girl that answered this afternoon, Friday. In fact they wont be open until 8:00 am per her phone side schedule. They will be showing the replay at noon however. That Sucks Big Hairy Ones.
That and according to the e-mail of the schedule the first game to show is the HAMMERS!!! yep.....GO BOYS. I may go and watch before C-Firm game.
Check out the events page for the Fado Irish Pub at http://www.fadoirishpub.com/denver/, it implies they will be open at 5am. Hmm, one could stay until closing at 2am tonight, then hang out for a few hours in your car or on a bench until 5am! Fado Irish Pub is located next to Coors Field, where the Rockies MLB team plays. Go to Wynkoop Street, between 19th and 20th Streets. I prefer going to Fado over the Bulldog any day, but feel like I am in the minority here on BS. From the Fado web page: English Premier League Saturday, September 15, 2007 - 5:00 AM Everton v Man Utd @ 5:00am Spurs v Arsenal @ 6:25am West Ham v Middlesborough @ 8:20am Chelsea v Blackburn @ 10:00am
