An ugly win, but I was very impressed with Conde. A nice long ball assist and Wanchope finally gets a goal.

-The Crew will be missing Schelotto and Hedjuk for their next game.
-In only his first game, Conde looks like an excellent addition. (Does this mean curtains for the Curtins?)
-Dante Washington's commentary: "He doesn't take that crap from anyone" (referring to one of the crew players).

Now.... can we just hope for LA to actually win a game tonight against Colorado.

Awesome debut for Conde. We finally have a defender that's both tall AND not slow. He's good with the ball at his feet and he's not afraid to go forward. And unlike C.J going forward, Conde looks good when he pushes up. Great, great acquisition. I hope he stays with the Fire for a few years.

Gotta say I like Banner too. I think he can be solid player. A little bit concerned with Blanco's last two games. Fire need the other players to step up so opponents can't put as many bodies on Blanco.

Huge game with the Red Bulls*it next week. We win and the playoffs seem much closer to reality. Go Fire.

I love it when Wanchope scores because of his celebrations. He actually looks like really proud to have scored yu know? Alotta times you see dues score and just run back like....yay.......:D

The celebration just adds on to the excitement.

    Good game too.

    GO FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked how he wasn't hesitant to fake the pass to the outside and take the ball up the field. It lends an unpredictability that prevents the opposing team from pinning the Fire in along the touchline and can lead to great passes like the one he made to Wanchope. He also handled the ball impressively in the rain.

Did anyone catch the story (Galarcep maybe) about how Conde wants to play for the USMNT? I guess he played for Columbia in the Us but not the senior team. He may have to rethink that; isn't the soonest anyone can get citizenship about 5 years, except by act of Congress?

Just want to chime in with a thumbs up for Conde. Strong debut. He looks the 'real deal' to me already even with over committing himself a few times.

Colorado is losing 3-0 in the 75th minute, so were up by one against both Colorado and Columbus with a game in hand against both of them (That is if LA doesn't somehow loss or tie this game).

Are we in 8th spot now?

and yeah... I liked Wanchope finish. Great finish. Soething you would expect Carr or Baret to f..k up but he finished with authority. We needed somone like this since Peter and Ante.

With Blanco, Wanchope, Mapp, Guerero, and Conde + keeper and other players we can actualy get in and win MLS Cup.
    Not having Dave helps.

Aside from that one odd deflection in the first half, Conde looked great, and that was a hell of a ball on the goal. Wanchope looked like a legitimate striker for the first time tonight, as well. He could have had a couple but for a little bit of luck and a better cross.

Must have been tough to play in all that rain. Osorio said one reason he brought in conde was guy could distribute from the back and was he right.Great pass and nice finish. I still worry about rolfe but hopefully he will come around.

Nothing that a few contibutions to the re-election campaign fund wont help. Hell theyd give one to Hugo Chavez if he contributed enough.

Great debut for Conde and my hatred for Wanchope sizzled out a little bit after that game. Hopefully the Fire can take advantage of beating Cbus and Colorado failing against the lowly Gals. Come on Fire hold onto one of these spots.

And this kind of performance is what the wanchope post surgeries is capable of... He is not as good with the ball on his feet as he used to but he is a deadly finisher. As long as he has some one that assists him he will score...

Which is why the Fire needs another attacking mid with actual attacking skill (a healthy Justin Mapp) to compliment. Mr. White is getting the ball too far back and getting fouled before he can get forward enough to do anything with it. That will continue until there's another healthy A-mid.

Odd. 200+ of us were there and we were loud all game, especially in the second half though. Not sure why it didn't come through on TV but we were certainly heard in the stadium.

Dont worry about my dadd Mr.Blanco he has dealt with defenders and teams posing strategy over him, his whole career. Hes smart and he will always cook up someting spicy and caliente when given lil space. But it would be nice to have some one offensive in the mid field to haul of a defender of blanco. for sureeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Ps. Me and my Woman are going to our 2nd fire game this sat.

I can't speak for first half cuz I didn't see it, but the second half of the broadcast they didn't even show S8 until like the final credits. And couldn't hear ya guys, either. Face it, Ben, the local CSN crew which was the MLSNet webcast just didn't want to embarrass their fans (if any) who sat home and watched. From the vids I saw posted on youtube, S8 owned that stadium as usual.
Over on the Crew borad, they keep making references to the team being moved to Philly ala Art Modell Cleveland Browns-style. Crew owners *had* to see what S8 did, and say "to hell with this town" or something. There is *NO WAY* they can be happy with what is going on attendance-wise. What was the local Crew support-local Blanco support ratio? Then add in the visiting fans?? Not gooooooooooooooooooood.
CMON CREW! GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER! SAVE YOUR DAMN TEAM SO S8 CAN KEEP OWNING YOUR STADIUM! PHILLY IS FURTHER THAN COLUMBUS, DAMNIT!

edit: I am trying to watch the first half now on MLSTV and there is no sound at all, so go figure.

What are you talking about? I watched the game on MLSNet.tv and heard Fire chants all game. At the end of the rain delay they had the camera on S8 for almost 5 minutes.
