Great to see Ashe with those assists. That is what he was bringing to the table at the start of the year. He was listless for a bit, but he is back.

Good win. I only heard it on the radio. Wished I could have made it to this game. Oh well, can't wait for LA.

    Agreed.

How do those free Amigo t-shirts look for those who got them?

i think this was an important win and will help the team get some confidence back, (espcially Jaqua and Ashe who have been struggiling some imo)

Does anyone else share the impression that Onstad has really slowed down. I respect his positioning, but he is just not stopping shots. On the first goal, he literally dived out of the way of the ball. (I was sitting on that endline with him directly between me and the shooter. He dived outside of the goal before the ball was shot, it then went right where he was. He should have stood up and made himself big challenging the attacker to beat him, IMHO.)

I am glad to see my going to walmart and buying a can of confidence phrase caught on with someone. I am even more happy to see Corey found the can of confidence display. I just hope he bought enough to last a while.

Really, they're the nicest t-shirts they've given away, they look sort of classy, they even have a star over the Dynamo shield, and they're not all cluttered up with other crap.

they really need to work on their handling the give-aways, though. There was a mad crush for the shirts at the main gate, and at the west gate they were trying to give them away with no takers. Which reminds me, whatever happened to the water bottles they were giving away the other night? When I went in, they said they would give them away when we left, so we couldn't throw them during the game. But they were supposed to go to the first 5,000 fans or something, well, they must have given them to the first 5,000 to leave the game, which doesn't make any sense. Those of us that stayed thru the game and a little bit afterwards missed out.

Did anybody else give blood? That was cool. And guess what, my blood actually was orange. I thought that was just an expression. :D

And has anybody mentioned yet that RSL's first goal should have been an RSL foul instead????? When a defender gets taken down in the box, that should be a foul, not a goal. Damn, I hate RSL, it seems like every game we play against them we get screwed. I'm glad we overcame it this time, if just barely.

...oh, and I forgot to say, except for the one time when RSL scored their first goal, and a couple of other little things, the ref didn't really suck this time. What's up with that?

...and if you'll allow me the honor of three posts in a row (nobody else is posting anyway), the crowd was excellent tonight. Not terribly big, but maybe because the team came out absolutely on fire, the crowd did too. They were yelling and cheering all night as if the entire stadium had become the TA/EB (well, maybe a little bit). The little clapper things they gave out really helped too, but they've given them out before and never really got the use they did tonight. It really was a fun crowd to be with, a little like the playoff crowds from last year. Just getting ready.....

I'm glad they shut down 45 this weekend. It took twice as long as it normally does to get there. We made it in just in time for the kickoff. I was looking forward to getting the shirt, we left a little early to make up for the traffic, but it wasn't moving for a while. 146 was bad, but Highway 3 looked worse. They've been weird with the giveaways lately. They used to put the magazine and the free kick together, but lately they've separated them which is annoying to have to walk to a different area to get something that could easily be put together.

Ashe looked awesome tonight. His passes were placed so well Jaqua would've had to have messed up terribly to miss. The way the team has played this year, Dom will have a hard time deciding who to leave unprotected at the end of the year because a lot of people have stepped up and filled in nicely.

On the first goal, I think he was surprised that the obvious foul wasn't called and not as ready as he could have been. Maybe a poor excuse but that was a horrible no-call. I think I went on a 5 minute cussing tirade after that goal. Second goal wasn't his fault at all. I did think he could have done better on the third goal. It looked like he dove over the ball.

Dallas' win means they are still 3 points back with 2 games in hand. That's not too bad. Great chance to pull away from them a bit as they have a tough game @ NE on Saturday and we play the Galaxy on Sunday (who play Chivas on Thursday meaning they'll be on short rest). Chivas USA is still the big worry. As of right now, we are 5 points up with 4 games in hand. NY could take points off of them and I really hope they do because their next two games are at home to LA and @ Colorado. LA could be dicey if they play like they did against Colorado.

Glad to see RSCA taking back some of the smack talk he's given Ashe. The guy's a good player, damn it.

I'm too tired to say much else. Karaoke @ the Mezz was a blast. And yay for no smoke. :D

All this talk of the mic reminded me of the one thing I really wanted to comment on. The PA announcer was good tonight. I'm used to him at Aeros games, but I think his experience with fans there helped out tonight. One of the things that was annoying for me with the other people is they would announce who scored right away and I could never hear it because it was still so loud from the celebrating. He would wait until it was quiet and then say who it was or what happened. There was only 1 or 2 things I missed, but it was still fine. When he started the "Score the gooooooooooooooal Hoooooooouston" thing I was kinda glad to hear it. He has an energy that the others didn't seem to have. And during halftime "The important thing is to keep your eyes open during the contest," had me laughing. Hopefully he can stay around and try bringing some energy with his enthusiasm.

That guy was good. But what was the "important thing to keep your eyes on" deal, I missed it.

I liked the opening "thank you fans" video too, only I couldn't hear it very well. I hope they put it up on the website or somewhere, I would like to see it more clearly.

Our defense took a day off last night thank god for Jacua and his 3 goals or this could have turn out bad for us last night.

Our defense did take the night off. I still like Ianni and Robinson in the back. They are a better combo. Why did Dom bench Ianni tonight?

The first game I've decided to not attend, and Jacqua and Ashe finally stop looking like a golfer and his caddy. Maybe I shoulda stopped coming a month ago...

Oh, yeah, and good call on the can of confidence thing. You're right, whatever flavor it is, it worked.

Why are you guys so hard on the defense? On two goals, the ball was played into the box and it deflected and fell to a RSL player who scored. (one after Mulrooney got pushed down and should have been a foul..but if anyone to blame it isn't Cochrane on that one) On the third, it was poor marking on a set piece.

Its not like Robinson/Cochrane/Barrett/Mulrooney could clear any of those balls that pinged amongst several players.

The other goal, who knows who was supposed to be marking the player there.
