    Blanco looks really tired.

    Wanchope out, Barrett in.

Dangerous push to box by Crew. Save by Pickens.

Really could have used Oliveira or Thiago to rest Blanco right now.

Fire strategy right now seems to be to slow the pace. This is not a good thing. The Crew will get lucky on one of the counters.

Soumare yellow - good call. Gavin - foulee.

    Carr coming on for Rolfe.

Good sub. Rolfe's been fairly quiet this evening.

Pickens cleans up another riccocheted pin ball in the box off a corner.

Good run down the right side from blanco. Foiled service in the box by EZ.

Kamara SOG. Broken Def line. Pickens forced to make a save. Then tries to save the CK. Nothing. CK Crew. Nothing.

Conde's been good. But Pickens keeps bailing his DL out.

Carr up right side. HIs to the box X is covered by GK.

Almost stoppage time. I'm thinking 3 min.

Closing seconds. Fire needs to control. But give it away. Crew has a last push. Fire get it back. Triple tweet.

An undeserved 3 points. But the undeserved ones count the same as the deserved ones in the standings.

    FT 1-0

This result was about as good as we could've hoped for. A point ahead of both Columbus and Colorado with a game in hand on Columbus . . . and Hejduk and more importantly Schelotto are both suspended for Columbus' next game against KC.

As much as we don't deserve to go to the Playoffs, we just might. The standings are too tight for the 'wild card' spots. LA needs to beat CR but I think LA will lose. So CR winning won't help us.

Everyone knows so; Chicago rules in Ohio!

In other news, Nate Jaqua has a hat-trick tonight.

Now what we want is for LA to beat Colorado, or at least draw.

3 points is 3 points which we needed. Only way I could see it being undeserved is if we had no shots on goal all night and Columbus own goaled themselves. Regardless it sounded like a uneventful game but a win none the less.

Major props to all the S8'ers that made the trip. Only heard your voices in the closing minutes. :D

I don't disagree with "undeserved," but I don't agree, either... but yeah, damned glad to have them points. Hard to judge the game because of the field conditions, but we need Mapp and Guerrero badly ASAP. MOTM= Conde or Pickens. Wet or dry grass, Barrett and Carr both need to learn to take the freakin shot and when they do, to finish. As Shankly once said "If ya don't know what to do, put the ball in the back of the net, and we'll talk about it later."

As much as we didn't deserve to win, I don't think we deserved to lose either. Columbus was marginally better, but this game was back and forth with both teams controlling stretches of it. For a road game, I'm ok with play like that, although Carr really did poorly at the very end . . . we could've won by 2.

Wanchope still doesn't look great with the ball at his feet, but that was a well-taken goal and he looks strong in the air. MVP today was definitely Conde.

Yeah, that was strange. Maybe they woke up en masse from their alcohol induced comas just in time.... or security finally let them into the stadium.

    Great debut for Conde.

Soumare out is for NY with cards.
