First off, they're quoting The Daily Mirror. Unfortunately, sports "news" agencies like Fox and ESPN have been taking tabloid gossip as fact.

If the quote is accurate, I at least give Bendtner respect for saying he'll keep his conversation with Wenger private. Bottom line - We've played only four league matches to this point. Bendtner is 19 years old and he's got to trust that Wenger has him in his plans if he had retained him following the BCFC loan.

I know lots of us fans would like to see if his size and capability could make him a Crouch-like goalscorer for Arsenal, but I trust Wenger.

I dont believe this for a second, i think it is complete horses*it. We only have 4 true strikers in the squad which im sure Bendtner is well aware of. Given this he has to figure he will feature heavily in this years campaign given injuries and squad rotation and all the other various reasons. I believe he will feature heavily as well given these reasons.

Just more completely made up s*it by the english media once again. I mean can i have a job making up random s*it. I can do better then this with my head up my ass.

Based on some of the previous interviews he has done, he has been pretty adamnent about playing more. He just needs to be patient this season. He'll get plenty of time as the wear and tear creeps in on the squad.

I would think that at the very least, he'll be starting Carling Cup games for sure.

I think the odds of him staying with us for long is not very good. He has a bit of ego in him and fact is he is not going to be happy with remaining as our 4th choice striker and get only Carling cup games. Especially when Adebayor and Da Silva has not been exactly incredible and he has done quite well in the matches he played in so far. To be honest right now I really wished that we did not get Da Silva caused Bendtner has shown more potential than him, and at a younger age.

Really? Scoring goals in the reserves and 1 in every 4 matches in the Championship is "more potential" than scoring 7 in 10 in the Croatian league? I'm not too sure. Eduardo is much more the finished article.

To me it is very likely he has said something along these lines.

Last summer he did state - a little arrogantly too - that he will not return to Arsenal to be a bitpart player, and that we should rather sell him than loan him out again.

why are u guys suprised, the guy imo is good enough to play and has so much more potential than adebayor

if wenger loses this one i shall be annoyed because ade is a frikkin donkey in front of goal

Ade has scored some big goals, so I wouldn't say he's that bad.

We're surprised because he's 19 and popping off like he's someone. He's got no credentials to fall back on. All he has is what he did with B'ham last year and even though you say he's going to be great, he hasn't proven anything.

He especially shouldn't be questioning someone of Wenger's stature.

    Emmanuel Adebayor
    Top tier experience:
Metz (France, Apps 44 Goals 15)
AS Monaco (France, Apps 78 Goals 18)
    Arsenal (Apps 44 Goals 13)
    International experience:
    Togo, Apps 37 Goals 16
    Other:
Has appeared at the world cup and in his third season at Arsenal.

    Eduardo Da Silva
    Top tier experience:
Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia, Apps 104 Goals 73)
    Arsenal Apps 4 Goals 1
    International experience:
    Croatia, Apps 15 goals 9
    Other:
Broke the all time scoring record in a league season last year (32 apps 34 goals)

    Robin van Persie
    Top tier experience:
Feyenoord (Holland, Apps 61 Goals 14)
    Arsenal Apps 75, Goals 23
    International experience:
    Netherlands, Apps 19 Goals 7
    Other:
Scored on his debut at the 2006 World Cup, and is in his 4th season at Arsenal.

    Nicklas Bendner

    Top tier experience:
    1 substitute Appearance, no goals
    International experience:
    Denmark, Apps 9 Goals 3
    Other:
Scored 11 Goals in 42 Appearances for Birmingham last season. (0.26 per game)

    ----

Now, please tell me what qualifies him to appear ahead of ANYBODY. He has NO Premiership experience, scored an average of 1 every 4 games in a LOWER league, 1 in 3 at international level, and he's making out that he should start. No, he shouldn't.

    Also:

RvP goals to games ratio at Arsenal: 0.31
Ade goals to games ratio at Arsenal: 0.30

So TBM, that 0.01 allows you to call Ade a donkey, but RvP is awesome? Give me a break and check your facts.

At the end of the day no matter what you say Bendtner has done nothing to prove he should start over anyone, and the facts back that up. He needs to be patient like everyone else. RvP was patient, and he is now our first choice striker (apparently). You can't go from the first to the fifth gear.

    Sit down Bendtner,

    Forwards

    Robin Van Persie
    Emmanuel Adebayor
    Da Silva Eduardo

Does he honostly think he'll get more time over these guys? He just started playing for Arsenal! He's just probibly mad at Wenger for not loaning him out earlier in the season.

It's his choice really. Play the odd game for the first team, but train week in week out with these guys.

Or play more for a mid table/bottom half team (even lower league team) and maybe score goals but not really learn anything apart from the experience of starting.

Training with the team day in day out means they will learn how he plays and vice versa. He probably does not realise this but even if he is not playing he will reap the benefits in the future of training with the team and not going out on loan.

He specifically said he will not go out on loan again. I thought he was a little mouthy back when he first said that - there has been nothing about his play at Birmingham that suggested he was good enough.

After seeing how wenger handled the baptista situation last season, I feel there is a pretty good reason if we don't see him. This is what life is like being a 4th striker - and at 19, that is all he can expect to be. While he has the potential to be good, he is no prodigal youth player that deserves more than what he is getting.

Perhaps a poor example, but isn't this exactly what SWP said he did? He would have played every game for City, but he got to train with better players at Chelsea.

sigh. given the comment from when he was at birmingham last season about not being willing to go out on loan or be a part-timer at arsenal, this is not surprising. i do wish he would shut up, though. given our ability to keep people healthy (poor, at best), the fact that multiple players are heading to ACN in january and mr wenger's tendency to play the up-and-comers in carling cup, getting 10-20 starts is almost assured, in my opinion.

on the other hand, while he's no al davis, flamini was a fine example last year of "oh, you want to leave and flap your trap? great, enjoy the reserves."

Are we (people on this board) as bad as the British tabloids? He has said some foolish and nieve things but lets not jump all over this story. Let it run its course. I hope he shuts his trap, comes off the bench v. sp*rs and scores the winner.

skizz, rvp isnt always used as a striker like ade

imagine after henry leaving, instead of asking rvp to head the attack we asked ade who couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo?

i for one think bendy is going to be a massive player and if he stays here he will be ten times the player ade was
