Not even accurate. Remove the one player from Villarreal and add it to BOCA JR's in South America.

Those players went too high. Ayala, Giggs and Scholas in their prime easily made the list, but not at their given age. Alves is not #12. Iniesta is ahead of Juninho Pernambucano, Sneijder, Hargreaves, Klose??? Nasri at this stage is not yet in the top 100.

i agree with you with giggs, and alves, but Iniesta if anything is too low. If you watched barcelona all last year you would know why. He was fantastic and while everyone around him was either in bad form or injured (messi), he was consistently putting out solid performances.

-That is unacceptable. Cesc over Nesta, Berbatov, Iniesta, Ribery, Robben, Silva, Klose, a bunch others. Insanity.
Just as bad as CRonaldo over Ronaldinho

indeed, i have some qualms also. for instance, i think totti, riquelme, nesta are too low, and cannavaro, suazo, and maldini are too high (unless they are just totally overlooking last year). it seems for some players, like owen, they don't care that he has done nothing for 3 years, and that he has such damage in his legs will almost surely never reach a level he achieved in 2001, yet a guy like nesta has an injury-plagued season, and still comes back for the last 3 months and plays well, plus has started off this season good, and he is only 31, yet he seems to have been pushed down because of it (I mean if i follow this list I'd rather have owen than toni or klose. I sure as hell wouldn't). It doesn't make a ton of sense. suazo is too high i think because though he is a good player, and could (probably will) have a great year, but he hasn't proven it at a big club yet, and though it wasn't his fault, some of his years at cagliari, he wasn't as productive as his talent and role would have led you to believe. in some ways, he reminded me of torres, where you watch him and swear he will tear up the league, but then on the whole leaves you a little underwhelmed. he has his chance to prove his lofty ranking this season, but until then, i would drop him down some (but still include him of course).

maldini, also, if this takes into account anything but career and reputation is good for no more than 25 games a year, and even then is not at the level he once was, and hasn't been able to play consistently the past couple of years either. hence, how is he 27 (and ahead of nesta), and if reputation plays a big role, then where is figo, as he even had a pretty good year last season, and still plays for a big team (though admittedly, this might be the year that he falls off the boil, as it seems cesar has played for him so far )

so, i am not sure what their criteria was, but it doesn't seem consistent whatever it is, they use. glad to see pirlo and xavi get some dlpm love, though. :p

oh, and mexes needs to be on there somewhere (unless i missed him), and what does totti have to do to get in the top 15, score 30 goals and have 15 assists in serie a play alone?

whoops, i thought toni and klose were lower, but actually owen is behind both by about 12 spots, but you get the point, even if that was a mistake i made

In this list, there are so many forwards better ranked than Klose who aren´t even 50% as good as him.

Can we have a single discussion without South American's whining about bias? You get rated by proving yourself against the best in the world and that only happens when you reach Europe. Until you do that then there will always be question marks and you will be rating accordingly. Plus the inclusion of Pato is baffling. We all know that the list is a crock and that is what we will discuss but these pathetic claims of European bias needs to stop.

Henry cant be 4th he isnt even starting all the time at Barca, Cannavaro should be farther down then 10th, Rooney should not be 8th Totti, Zlatan, Drogba and Villa should move up they are all better than Rooney atm, Cesc and Robin van Persie should be farther up the list, Berbatov should be farther back, Beckham should be much, much farther back, if Mutu is on the list Pazzini should be too, and how is Pato on the list, he hasnt even played for AC Milan yet!

I agree about pato. great promise, but just that, only a promise. one could try and justify his ranking by what he did in his short time with the senior team at internacional, but I ain't gonna be the one that tries to make it :D.

the pazzini comment, though, i think is way off personally. mutu had arguably the best year in serie a, right up there with totti and ibrahimovic
(before injury to zlatan of course). pazzini has up until this year been a good back-up to toni and a young promise. yes, he has gotten off to a bright start this season, and i along with most other observers of serie a expect him to have a pretty good year, and break into the national team setup sooner rather than later, but he has not done as much as mutu. If anything, mutu is too low on this list, he should be up near toni, and pazzini was correctly left off. at least, imho, of course.

    cheers

Riquelme is a Villareal player, the loan at Boca is over and he is staying at Villareal for now despite whether he gets played or not.

Not quite sure what you are getting at here - Paul Scholes had probably the best season of his career last year.

Since there is really no way to really figure out who are the "real" best players out there all of this list is opinion. Sure I agree with some of it and disagree with some of it. But that is because my opinion is different then whoever made that list.

Find one top 100 anything list and see if people can agree on it.

Pato on that list is an absolue joke, guy didn't even do all that much in the U 20 WC. England with the most players on the list is another joke.

Pato do well in club world cup and in the libertadores games that he play.

and the list is eurobiased, if all the best of the world are in europe, the european team would be unbeatable. And they aren't
