I just watched the recap shows of Serie A on Fox Soccer Channel part 1 & 2. They didn't show anything on Napoli. Not one minute of footage. They literally showed EVERY OTHER team except Napoli. Not even the goal highlights for Cagliari. Have we been shuned by popular television or are the rights to the inside of SanPaolo that sacred that they can not be seen by the eyes of those who didn't attend the game. De Laurentiis better fix this shit because if the only good footage of our team is in those disgusting red uniforms then we might as well not be in Serie A. What the ******** is he thinking? The only good I can think can come of this is that they didn't show our embarassing opening game loss. But I still want to see Fox Soccer Channel show Napoli regardless of how bad our result. Needless to say I'm pissed. Goodnight.
I really do think it has to do with the rights issues. I don't know what they are thinking. No one has the right to show their home matches outside of Italy so we won't see them on RAI International or SerieA.tv this season unless that changes... I still don't believe there's any radio stream of the matches as the fans at calcionapolinews.it were saying they can't follow the match at all... they don't freaking sell their own merchandise on their own website. I mean, honestly, for as successful a businessman as De Laurentis is, I don't get the strategy here. It's pretty pathetic.
Serie A is getting more coverage in the states, De Laurentiis needs to get this sorted out. Napoli is losing out on exposure. I think he wants them to pay Milan/Juve money for the rights of the San Paolo. At this point he needs to accept anything they throw at him. As for web radio, I think that's even more retarded
it was strange because Domenica Sportiva showed the highlights Sunday night, and they didn't block it out. In the past when a team didn't have rights the highlights on Domenica Sportiva were blocked out.
It's a ************ situation and I wish I knew how to write a letter in Italian or even knew where to send one if I did. I don't think a letter would do anything but at the same time maybe there are some others writting as well.
I thought FSC cut the highlights so they could go to commercial before they came back with their story on Juventus. The cut to commercial did not seem to come during a natural break in the program...almost like when they cut the comments from managers during the Premier League Review Show so they can go to commercial.
Maybe the editor is a Napoli fan and was so depressed after the game he didnt want to subject the audience to the horror show, but this is a Murdoch channel.....
I cant stop thinking about this. Napoli finally gets to Serie A and it's almost harder to watch them this year. I am so disapointed.
We ca't even listen to the damn games online like last season!!! Does Udinese have a radio station online?
The only way we're going to see Napoli is if we're playing a big team outside of home and there are no other more important games at that time. Sad but true.
Can some explain the situation in detail? Why are we not selling the tv rights? Maybe we're waiting for our stock to go up?
don't know it enough to explain it in detail. the issue last year was that napoli and rai couldn't come to an agreement about tv rights at san paolo. this year it's even worse as napoli haven't agreed to rights for any media (tv and radio and web streaming) for matches coming from san paolo. i have yet to see anything in print as to why. lack of the radio broadcasts really kill me though. i miss hearing auriemma.
I hope Channel 5 show a Napoli game soon. So far it's only been top four teams. Can anybody tell me when we play the top four, and what the other top four's fixtures of the same weekend are?
I'm sure we'll play a Saturday or Monday game before then and there is always Serie A tv that worked ok considering the other options.(which there aren't any)
Here in Saudi Arabia all games are broadcasted except the ones fron San Paolo Napoli fans here are really pissed and we don't know whos fault is this.
It's no ones "fault" per se but De Laurentiis, the clubs owner, hasn't made a decision or agreement with any broadcasting companys over rights to Napoli's home games. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon ... hopefully before the chrismas break in December.
Wow, i'm really surpsied that Napoli's fan base stretches so far. Welcome to the family! I have some questions. In Saudi Arabia, which league is the most followed outside of the local league? Who is the most supported italian team, or other big european club? How did you become a fan of Napoli?
If Napoli put on a good show against Samp, expect the price to go up! I think that's the intention of DeLa. He sees what the other big 4 are getting, and wants something comparable IMO. He's a pretty hard negotiator from the looks of it. From one of the articles I posted, we're going to pull in around 80mln this year. Not bad!
NapoliNewJersey : I hope that. We really missed the San Paolo indestructible : 99% of Napoli fans here are the ones who followed Italian football during Maradona's years. There is almost no young fans but I hope that will change soon. Regardind the other part of your question : It is almost equal between the three big leagues (Italy - Spain - England) . People here are crazy about european football. Real Madrid and Barca are number one and the 3 italian giants are really popular here but thier fans I may call them "Media fans" because they were strongly affected by the improvement of the media these days. However, Napoli, Roma and Lazio fans are not much but they really love thier teams Best Regards,
