It's the question we've all been asking ourselves:why could Arsenal beat City so easily when United lost?

Is it because Arsene Wenger is a better manager than Alex Ferguson?

Is it because the Arsenal players are hungrier? Maybe our guys think they've proved themselves last season and just have not bothered this season?

Is it just that Arsenals brand of quick inventive football is better at breaking down packed defences than Uniteds stodgy, old-fashioned style?

Maybe it's just that a club gets the team its fans deserve. And let's face it, maybe United fans don't deserve a winning team with their fickleness and their constant whining.

There really is nothing mysterious here. Arsenal did the double against United last season. Therefore, Arsenal is better than United.

I'll go ahead and volunteer myself as the next whipping boy...

    if we lose again.

Until then....I love Arsene Wenger. His team plays a classy attractive style of football we could only hope for, on a small budget and excellent scouting.

That's exactly the kind of indifference from United fans that has seen Arsenal surpass United in every way.

No I am not indifferent to the team but to your post.

Yes United have been beaten twice by Arsenal but we won the league so how have they have surpassed united 'in every way'? They have not won the league for three years and I do not back them for this title. I think you are on a windup.

Arsenal are the epitome of football. Teams should lighten up on them, stop being physical, and just let them play.

Also we did everything but score in that game and that the common consensus was that city had one shot and scored.I think you are looking too much on the gloomy side after five games when we have been missing important players which must be kept in mind and at the moment it is better to grind out results at the moment to we find form.

You know who can grind out results? Arsenal, that's who.

Arsenal beat City and United did not because the paint which was used to make the PK spot in the United game was slightly whiter then the paint was when Arsenal played them.

No, that makes no sense. It's this board's shame.

Because only Arsenal is more massive than City.

Arsenal overwhelmed City. They didn't need to worry about City getting a lucky shot. Arsenal have shown the proper way to deal with teams like City, and United better sit up and learn.

I for one welcome our new Arsenal overlords. We have so much to learn from them.

true, but I was thinking more along the lines of it being seen by more Arsenal posters on the Arsenal board.

no matter though since there is a link in the IKTS thread on the Arsenal board to this one, so people will click over.

We'll see how this works out. Think it's better to wave the penalty in front of the loser, not the winner. Arsenal fans can add their comments to this thread and wallow in their victory on this board.

The winner can decide where the thread should go next time. Maybe next time the thread should should not reference or discuss IKTS at all either . It should be written deadpan.

Agree on both counts as well. Thread should be in the loser's forum, with no explanation.

So, I guess that means we'll be here again same time next month...

I'll be Arsenal whipping boy next month. I don't think we have one assigned yet.

They say they're the "most knowledgable fans in football" so obviously we'd lose every time.

Arsenal truly know the secret to beating Sven--non-English players. Just think about how bad he looked when facing teams full of non-English players. And given the incredibly low Englishness of Arsenal, its no surprise that they won in such fashion.

What can we do but tip our hats, er, chapeaux, to Arsenal.
