Saturday September 8th. Does anyone know if the game will be televised in the US? P2P link? Hope the team starts getting results while playing well...
Hey ecuador is doing pretty good 3-1 so far good half except that i still see a pretty bad defence. did u see that el salvador defender kick my boy C Lara after he fouled him pretty hard CRAZY
it was a good game for us even though el salvador is not a real good team o well it was still a fun game to watch vamos ecua
I watched today's match on goalTV. I wanna watch a match like today's at latin american qualifying round my rating of today's Klimowicz:6.0 Campos:5.5 Hurtado:6.0(Espinoza:6.0) Guagua:6.5 Ambrosi:6.5 Urrutia:6.0(Aguirre Castillo:6.0 Mendez:6.0(Bolaños:5.5) Lara:7.0(Vaca:5.5) Caicedo:6.5(Guerrón:5.5) Benítez:7.0(Ladines:5.5)
I didn't see the game. Any pleasant surprises out there? Looks like Lara played well. Any others looking like first team material?
i think campos played better den dat he mayb not go up as much but he alwayz hold his position y no deja a la defensa mal parada como ambrossi, da goal was his fault...
I was at the stadium and would say that the pleasant surprises were that the Liga players -- Lara, Urrutia, Campos and Ambrossi -- all rose to the occasion. I say this because none of them have a clear spot on the team for the eliminatorias and a copuple of them -- Ambrossi and Campos -- were last minute replacements for De La Cruz who had been feuding with Suarez for missing the Bolivia macth and Jairo Montano who is hurt. Lara always impresses me because he is so fast and strong for such a small guy! His goal was fantastic and really set the mood. Urrutia and Ambrossi played surprisingly well ... both were quite active and involved. Urrutia seems to disappear a bit in some of the matches I have seen, but not tonight. He had a lot of touches and seemed quite comfortable out there teaming nicely with Castillo. Ambrossi was surprisingly active too -- he had been recovering from injury and not playing for Liga much of late, so I didn't know what to expect. He looked pretty strong and had a nice cross assist on Benitez's first goal. Campos was solid too. All of these guys made a case for themselves on the squad and it doesn't hurt that they play all of their home games during the year in Quito's altitude. Time will tell if Ecuador is this good or El Salvador is just weak. Will be interesting to see what happens in Honduras. Finally, Benitez continues to look very, very good. Wickedly fast and just makes things happen whenever he is near the ball. Very exciting to have such a young and rising playmaker on the squad.
I think this was a terrible matchup, you could get no real info because el salvador was a really crappy team, and if you add to the fact that those guys came with all the intensions to injure our players, this was more a risky game, where we had ALOT more to lose than win. Maybe they could use this game as a morale booster, but besides that, nothing could be learned from this game.
BUT!!! if we can keep a winning track, this serves as good points for fifa rankings...notice how some teams like USA can play 10 games against ************ opposition and go up? well we can do the same thing too
i prefer being 80 in the fifa rank and make it to the world cup every 4 years. Look at Colombia and Uruguay, they are usually better ranked than us in that fifa thing (which i believe is a scam anyways), but they fail to make it to the world cups.
FIFA rankings are an absolute joke. Don't take them seriously! They mean absolutly nothing and they do nothing for no one!!
I partly agree...but in the same respect, when we dropped I know many people in this thread were upset with suarez and with how bad the team was performing...so obviously its a morale booster, or downgrader...but more importantly, it shows face to the rest of the world...whats the point of having a quality team if we dont have the ranking to back it up...in my opinion, they go hand in hand
I wasn't upset with Suarez because we lost and we dropped in the rankings, I was upset with Suarez because we lost. Ecuador show face to rest of the world?? I hate to break it to you but I doubt the rest of the world care. If Ecuador wants to be respected, maybe we should win a few games outside of Quito. I don't ever use the rankings to back up what the quality of a team is. Don't take this the wrong way but, truth is, anyone who knows about the sport would laugh if you use that as a factor. FIFA rankings are a fluke. A win could be a moral booster, but I don't wan't to see Benitez, Mendez, Castillo or anyone else getting injured by Honduras or El Salvador or anyone else on a friendly so close to the qualifers so Ecuador can go from 55th place to 54th.
