Names please? By the way, my top 3 candidates (Ramon Diaz, Bielsa, and Astrada) were all disemployed just a while ago, but now they are all coaching different teams (San Lorenzo, Chile, and Colon, respectively).
artuari that brazilian dude really wants to coach an argie team....tolo but he is busy i think, patricio hernandez, maybe not.....caruso from bicho rojo, chaocha llop, he is busy....vitamina sanchez?...bambino viera........ that coach that got fired from real madrid like 6 years ago he was spanish i thinks, he was on the big side, balding and had a mustache....real played that touch style that is very river-ish......ummm, really there aren't any out there....******** it get a guy who is coaching the kids in river and make him perm. coach
The one guy that I'd love to see on the sidelines as a River DT is "El Principe" Francescoli. But, we all know that's a pipedream and it will never happen. He's probably way too happy with GolTV. As for the Real Madrid coach that Mandrake mentioned, I'm pretty sure that was Vicente Del Bosque. I serioulsy doubt he would ever accept a coaching job in Argentina. That guy would command somewhere around $2 million dollars a year. One name that hasn't been mentioned, and I don't know what his status is currently, is Jorge Valdano. He would be a fresh face and not one of these re-cycled names that always seem to go around in Argentina when there is a vacancy.
Wow.. what a genius!! Seriously, are you the new Nostradamus?! I would have NEVER ever guessed that River Plate fans would love to see the coach that won the most titles with them (in the history of the club) back. It is almost as crazy as saying Boca Juniors fans would like to see Carlos Bianchi return one day!
HAHAHHAHAHA Unlike you guys I dont cry to have a old coach back like Carlos Bianchi, I perfer Basile to be honest over Bianchi I want Bianchi for the NATIONAL TEAM. The Argentina National Team.
Hey bosterosoy, Don't even trip man, this comment is coming from a guy from Redlands, California. Redlands, a town where men are men and sheep are nervous.
and el muneco comes from a team which hasnt won anything in a international level in over a decade. How can anyone talk crap about my comments they are so true Carlos Bianche THE BEST COACH IN ARGENTINA FUTBOL SHOULD BE ON THE NATIONAL TEAM.
Well I wouldnt mind having him back but he had a great run with boca and it will be hard to surpass the things he accomplished thats why I don't think he will come back, Velez has more of a chance of getting him back than us since he is from that club.
Guys, don't get into a two way converstation about a Boca subject in a River thread. Make some sense and open a thread in the Boca sub-forums to deal with such a subject. I'm sure there would be others interested. Relax Jonathan ... a gastada here and there is part of the folklore. But anything else is trolling. .
Since Passarella resigned today, I think it's time to start talking about who we'd like as a replacement. Ramon Diaz- All of the River hinchas want him back, but look who's still the president, Aguiliar. Plus, would Savino from San Lorenzo let him go from his contract to coach River next year. I say very doubtful. Diego Simeone- Currently the head coach with Estudiantes. We have to remember, Estudiantes will be playing the Copa Libertadores next year, so there probably wouldn't be any desire of going to River for that since River will be playing in it to. It's possible, but only if he wants to move on to a bigger club. Going to coach at River might be a nice stepping stone if he desires to coach in Europe for Atletico Madrid or Lazio one day. Americo "El Tolo" Gallego- Did a masterful job with Independiente in 2002, Newell's in 2004, and Toluca of Mexico in 2005 and 2006. He's currently the head coach of Tigres in Mexico and they were one of the worst clubs in the Apertura accumulating 16 points out of 17 games. It's possible, but the president of Tiges already stated Gallego isn't going anywhere. Enzo "El Principe" Francescoli- A River idol who has stated in the past he's not intersted in coaching. Currently the Vice-President of GolTV. Maybe seeing how River has underachieved in the Libertadores and Sudamericana will light a fire under him and he'll want to coach. I say 50/50. Well those are the top four I'd say are going to be thrown around. If anyone else can come up with a serious name, than by all means, add it to the list. And no bosteros, we don't want your reject "Latorpe". He can go back to Mexico and coach Atlas.
lol i was going to mention Lavolpe I heard River has called Bianchi but I don't think he would reject Velez and then go to River
If Latorpe was ever mentioned as a possible candidate, I think I'd personally fly down to BsAs just to kick the living shit out of Aguiliar.
Simeone is by far the best of the likely candidates. Ramon is completely out of the question with Aguilar at the helm and having resigned a contract with San Lorenzo, and none of the other candidates really convince me too much. Eventually, if Newell's go down, River could gamble on Caruso Lombardi who did a great job at Argentinos.
Might as well. I remember some River fans here defending him after Boca lost the tri saying he was a good coach . I wonder if they'd want him now.......
http://www.ole.clarin.com/notas/2007/11/17/01542904.html hmm interesting. They say it will be between Ramon Diaz and Simeone
I'd throw in Ramon Cabrero at Lanus. I thought River were supposed to have this new transfer philosophy of not buying the big name players and giving the younger players a chance. It seems to me that is what Cabrero has been doing with great success at Lanus. I don't know that he'd be first choice but you could probably do a lot worse.
Another name I'd like to throw into the list is Gustavo Alfaro. Hell, why not?? Sure he coaches a smaller club like Arsenal, but look at what he's done with them. They knocked us out of the Sudamericana by playing a well organized defensive minded series and are in their first ever international club final. I wouldn't mind seeing him behind the bench at River. I know others will probably disagree since Arsenal knocked us out, but Alfaro always seems to know how to get the best out of his players.
