Also, in the print version there is a column from Anthony SanFilippo titled "Book it: MLS team is coming to Chester." I can't find it on the Daily Times website, however. Anthony pretty much considers this thing a lock and finishes with a quote from an unnamed county official:
Bryan Love the 5+ AM posting. I will still go out and grab a print version of all the philly columns on all this. I like to save these for my news archives for future framing. I am ready to explode, but still cautiously optimistic. Great work!!
It will be good to have Philly fans in the league. If you dont get these guys to be the shirt sponsors of the athletic Club of Delaware County somebody isnt trying. .
I was on the train reading in print while Bryan was posting. I have a hunch Bryan set his alarm clock just a bit earlier today to get everything posted before he left for work.
My fav quote: “There are a lot of players working on this, but from the county and city’s perspective, we’re going to be negotiating jointly together as one team in dealing with the ownership group,” said Reilly. “We’ve got to make this a reality for the county and the city of Chester.” Thats the Chairman of Delaware County speaking, not the investors or MLS. Awesome!
I was like a kid on Christmas. I knew at least three articles were coming this morning. So yeah, I didn't sleep well.
Awesome stuff, looking very good...just as long as fast Eddy is on board, I think things will be fine...
“In order for this team to play in 2010 in a brand new soccer stadium, our deal with ownership and the public needs to be finalized by early December at the latest,” said Garber.” WHOA, when has anything of this magnitude, in this state, where public money is involved, been completed within this time frame? Deal with ownership, not a problem. It's the public money that will be the issue. Keep your fingers crossed!
It shows up very well in print. I think they are really trying to convey how exciting it was to be at the meeting last night. Remember, 7 years ago Del Co got stiffed by the Eagles. They want to be major league and really a part of the Philly megalopolis.
Nope. The Times website sucks. Go to the delcotimes home page, click the news tab and you'll find it there.
This is the current link: http://www.delcotimes.com/WebApp/ap...1.content=/DCT/News/TopStoryList_Story_653315 And agreed, Delco Times website sucks.
My local paper is on the same network as the DelCo Times, and I will also add that all of the sites using that network suck. It's impossible to go back through the archives, they rarely go a day being error-free, it just sucks.
Is this stadium going to be anywhere near a public transportation system? Or is it going to be like Pizza Hut Park? I really do hate those suburban stadiums. Isn't the TFC model the one MLS should be trying replicate?
