I'll go ahead and say that Sam's Army and/or U.S. Supporters should meet on top of the Waldron Parking Deck, south of the stadium, for tailgating and march to the game. That's where we'll be. Let's plan on meeting at the southwest corner. 11:00 AM Sunday, Sept. 9th Cheers.
Hopefully it works out . Rishi, my friend and I went looking for the tailgate before the Gold Cup Final, and only found about ten other US fans. I wish i could be there for this one...
To make it easier to find and have people walking right into it, it's better to have the SA tailgate area in the NW corner of the Waldron. That would put it right next to the ramp way that will take us to the entrance, and would put us at the top of the stairs that those on the lower levels use. Those coming up would have to them walk all the way to the back of the deck, especially inconvenient for those that had to park on the south side of a lower level and first had to walk to the stairs on the north side.
Northwest corner it is then. Waldron Parking Deck, northwest corner, 11:00 AM Sunday. Hope to see everybody there.
ok, sorry for the ignorance, but for someone who this will be their first tailgate [not first game], what do i need to bring or do? thanks
Bring yourself, a friendly attitude, and whatever food/beverages you want to consume and just show up at the NW corner of the upper deck of the Waldron.
We are renting a huge grill and will have Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and bratwurst for any US Fan that wants to come over (donations appreciated if take food)- We are also planning on being in the Northwest Corner of the Waldron. Look for Flag Pole with USA Flag and Big Red N Flag and the American Outlaws Banner. "US come on and raise up and take your shirt off and twist around your head like a helicopter this ones for the U us us us S us us us A us us us"
Being I am flying from So Cal, and taking the train/bus to the stadium from O' Hare I will bring some cash, and help cook.
I can also help cook! And If Outlaw Ben can promise to have some coke... I promise to bring some Capt. Morgan!!!
My brother and I will also be coming in from the train. I planned on bringing beer and goodies while riding down there, just a little worried that they wont allow it.. Look for two hispanics decked out in the good ol Red, White, and Blue! Cant wait to meet some of you guys!
BTW.. the march would be a perfect time to sing When Johnny Comes Marching Home: From Nuremberg:
After spending 5 hours, part of it on a faulty plane waiting for what they were going to do if anything, I gave up and went home.
Here are the lyrics according to Wikipedia. When Johnny comes marching home again, Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll give him a hearty welcome then Hurrah! Hurrah! The men will cheer and the boys will shout The ladies they will all turn out And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home. The old church bell will peal with joy Hurrah! Hurrah! To welcome home our darling boy, Hurrah! Hurrah! The village lads and lassies say With roses they will strew the way, And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home. Get ready for the Jubilee, Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll give the hero three times three, Hurrah! Hurrah! The laurel wreath is ready now To place upon his loyal brow And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home. Let love and friendship on that day, Hurrah, hurrah! Their choicest pleasures then display, Hurrah, hurrah! And let each one perform some part, To fill with joy the warrior's heart, And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home
I have two extra Sam's Army tickets I'll be bringing to the tailgate if anyone needs them. I probably won't get there till like 12:30-1:00 though.
About what time will the march in be? Just in case I'm running late, I don't want to be aimlessly searching for the tailgate after it's done.
Match time: 3:00pm Gates open: 1:00pm I believe Lots open: 11:00am I am guessing (same time as Gold Cup final) Lots of help, I know. Sorry. GO NATS!
good to know that i've driven to chicago and we've been unable to print out our tickets at any computer we've come to... very convenient, right? i'll see you guys if i can get everyone up
