On your second point, you're right. I just wish I could watch it, but I'm guessing I won't be able to find the game in Grenobles at 4:30am. On your first point, you're wrong. Chivas' PPG is 1.80, the Revs is 1.826. Small difference, but nonetheless, this isn't the matchup of the top 2 teams in PPG. Now on Sunday, this very well could be a matchup of the top 2 teams in PPG, as long as DC wins or ties on Thursday. Of course, unbiased as I am, I'm hoping DC ties. Very happy I'll be home in time for that one.
Talked about it on the show tonight.... Going to be a great game... Ray Ray predicted 2-0 DCU.... But I gotta say that looking at previous games...both teams are pretty evenly matched...player for player.... Without any real risk... I think its gonna come down to if Guzan is on top form or not...If he is...then 2-0 Chivas....Galindo brace.... Cheers Simon Allen World Soccer Wrap on i-tunes
This will be a battle, I hope... I'm supporting Chivas USA through the season and I want them to win it all. But the way D.C.United trashed FCD, this game will be tough for Preki's squad... but if Chivas USA want to win it all they need to win these type of games.
How about I'm flying in from Baltimore to see this game? As for the game per se, don't be suprised if United makes a few changes to the lineup for this match. Considering that United has a more important EC matchup with New England three days later and with United in a 3 games in 8 day stretch (Chivas being the middle match), Soehn will most likely rest a few players. this doesn't dampen the importance of this game, it's just that United has really sprung up some quality depth over the course of the season and this is a good opportunity for them to rest some aging players. This also isn't a slight at Chivas USA as they are playing some fantastic soccer. At this point in the season United has to take care of business in the East and let the SS fall where it may.
FCD had time to prepare for DC as well (my bold). It did them no good at all. The way that DC's roster has been handled this year also makes a difference - more players have been rested than last year. Looking forward to an entertaining game.
It will be a tough game but Chivas USA will come out with a win. This could be DC first of a couple losses to a Chivas team this year
At least you won't have to complain about triple OT WNBA playoff games pre-empting the start of this one. Next week could be another story, but then it would be a blessing if the ladies kept us from having to watch the Galaxy.
That's not good as college football games seem to drag out on a frequent basis. I predict a great deal of college football bashing in these boards should the game run into the MLS time-slot.
Oh, and here's a heads-up to allay any angst should that happen, go to ESPN360.com, I totally forgot about the webcast the other week when the hoops ran long.
You know, I *am* looking forward to this, not just as a DC fan, but as an MLS fan. This will be the 2nd game this year I've looked forward to, which is about 2 more regular season games than I usually look forward to.
Isn't that service limited to like .001% of the internet community? And on another buzzkill note, DC would probably take a draw in this game and feel pretty good about it, considering Chivas has 7 wins in 8 tries at home and that the draw would still nose us in front of NE in advance of our home game against them. Meaning this could be some timid football we're in for on Thursday. This type of game, the kind you'd tend to build up for, sometimes seems to have an uncanny knack of delivering no more than 1 goal.
And it's Louisville vs some directional school, so UL is going to put up about 70 points. So even with the 30 minute post game show, just prepare yourselves to miss the first 20-30 minutes of the MLS game. ...Now, let's start thinking about some creative whinning posts.
There is more intersting regular season matches than usual this season. This should be a good one. As good as this season has been (the best I have seen), with a better format that had some real bite, it could be ridiculously good. The intensity would be off the hook.
Considering it's 930pm eastern time and on ESPN2 it's only 11:30 into the third quarter of some sorry @$$ college football game, I'll be surprised if it starts on time. Reminds me of what happened two weeks ago on ESPN2. There was a Womens' NBA game that went into triple overtime and it was more important then showing an MLS game. I think the United States needs to get with it and realize that soccer (football) is the biggest sport in the world... thank god for GOLTV!!
Well, I just got home; and checking out the college football game clock, it looks like we'll be lucky to catch any of the 1st half. And apparently, my internet provider does not carry ESPN360.... Sometimes it's hard being a soccer fan...
COX is my provider and I'm not able to get 360 either??? not sure why not since between them and comcast they are the biggest cable providers??
Let me insert a joke that is slowly becoming the new "60-90 days" pie-in-the-face response.... Cox and Comcast hate soccer.
Rostock bundes liga game on goltv right now even though it's a repeat to supress the suspense of the DCU game
