Because Jazic ankle has been healthy enough to play for the Galaxy lately...perfect call up.
Didn't I hear of a similar issue with one of our other players being called up to national team duty? Hmmm...hope this works out better.

I'm not sure why national team coaches call up injured players who haven't even been playing for their club teams. Just because its a national team doesn't meant he injury is going away. Next think you know, Albright will be called up tomorrow for Saturday's game vs. Brazil and he'll play the full 90!

Oh thank you, this is great news. Does this mean Harmse won't play for the Galaxy this week. We probably win now. Is there any chance Pavon can get called to Honduras, Buddle and Gordon to..Uhhhmmm... The circus. Well no one else would want them.

If we could get rid of Gordon, Buddle, Pavon, and Harmse. Thats addition by subtraction.

Well at least we got some good news.

Too bad Harmse couldn't time a national team callup for when he has a red card suspension.

The call-up of Ante is a joke. I guess this means he's going to play 90 minutes on Saturday?

The great MLS scheduling and setting games on FIFA blackout dates...it is brilliant!
Now watch us make it to the MLS Cup and have Beckham healthy...Oh and he will miss it because England has a qualifier that week... Brillant!!!

    Geneva,

Now you are forgetting about the Ruiz rule! Carlos did this, took an intentional yellow near the end of one of our games getting his caution point accumulation. Went off to play with Guate for his one game and returned the next week. The following year MLS changed the rule, all suspensions are carried over when they coincide with national team absences.

Yeah, calling in Jazic makes perfect sense.

Anyway, I fully expect them to play 90 on Wednesday and then fly back to LA and go 90 vs. Chivas the next night. It worked so well before.

Not saying this is the case, but the callup for Jazic may have been a political move just to make sure if he misses the game, it's for an injury and that he can't play for the Galaxy on Thursday while still injured.

If they don't call him up, and he's finally fit to play, then he can play for the Galaxy on Thursday instead of for the Canadian Nat Team.

However, if they call him up, then are told he's injured and can't play - then they can call in another player, but the Galaxy now can't play Jazic on Thursday - b/c they've kept him from National Team Duty due to injury.

And given our team's penchant for playing injured players lately, can you blame the Canadian National Team if they're calling him up just to get confirmation that he is injured and to keep him from playing this week on a bum ankle...

Does this mean Mastroeni won't play for the Rapids this weekend? I'll bet the chances are 90/10 that he'll be out there.

Yeah, but the difference is the Rapids released him to the US camp, and the USMNT sent him back.

If the Galaxy allow Jazic to go, but then the Canadian team released him because he failed a fitness test (like Pablo) then we could play him this Thursday.

I looked at the available roster. We will be fielding a pretty respectable USL-quality side.

It used to be that only a few of us bothered to show up for the reserve matches. Now we are all going to them. On Saturday nights.

I like Harmse from what little i've seen. I'm hoping for big things next season from him and becks in the middle. They look like they could do well together.

Yep, and on Sunday we can all go see a guest team play for free if we want.
