A great loss... Luciano Pavarotti, Italian Tenor, Is Dead at 71 - New York Times The Times has a list of important CDs and DVDs of Luciano's work: Discography
One of my favourite moments from the 1990 World Cup Concert: The thing about Pavarotti is that he turned a lot of people to Opera who never listened to it before.
I've met a lot of famous people in my time, and Pavarotti by far had the most in-person star power of any of them. He commanded a room like a king or a pope.
One of the few things I could listen to despite whatever mood I was in, and most of the time it was this man. This was incredibely sad news to receive. R.I.P.
RIP ... one of the few guys that made opera fun for me... He will be missed i am sure all of the music artests in heavin gave him a awesome welcome home
I was very fortunate to see him give a recital in Munich back in 1985. Just Pavarotti accompanied by piano. I've never heard anything like it and I doubt I ever will again. He soaked the love out of the audience and then poured it back as beautiful music. He was a singular talent, and he really did command the room. RIP. Gringo - You actually met him?
