After watching Sneijder play I say forget about Kaka. Sure Kaka probably is much more established player, he may be better than Sneijder but I think the Sneijder fits into the system fine. There is no need to spend 100 mil Euro on Kaka instead that money can be spent on developing better youth products.
No. I get the impression we won't splash on Kaka, until he finally declares that he wants to fulfill his dream to come to Madrid (2012).
Do need him? No! But do we want him? Absolutely. He is by far the best player on the planet and his qualities could do wonders for this team as he is doing for Milan at the moment because without him they would have not lifted the Champions League trophy. So if he was available for a reasonable price then Calderon should not hesitate. The thing is that during our bad spells, a certain player is proclaimed as the Champion and as the one who would lead us out of the drought[Robinho, Gago and so on]. This was the case with Kaka. The time Calderon went after him, we had not won anything for a long time and he was elevated to a Messiah status being labeled as the won who would lead us to victory. This continued when Capello won us the League because it was pretty evident that we had relied on luck to save us on many occasions and that one of the reasons we had won it was because Barcelona and Sevilla were hit by bad form. BUT if we were to win the league this year convincingly and in style then the pursuit for Kaka would end immediately seeing as this team were pure Champions and the yearly revolving door would finally stop.
calderon made a promise about kaka now the question is will he admit he was wrong for promising that or will he be stupid and just because he made that promise will pursue him because if calderon slips up in any way the fans will have his head saying they promised him this and that theres many factors playing in here.. but i for one dont really want kaka here i rather him aimlessly pursue Tevez or aguero or maybe diego rivas =] whom he can all get for less then 100 euros xdd my opinon sorry
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Sneijder is as good as Kaka. Both players are exceptional at shooting and scoring long distance shots. In this department Sneijder certainly isn't less qualified than Kaka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-tpWnD0BMg for a few examples). Last season he scored 18 goals in 30 league matches as a midfielder and he didn't even take the penalties. Both players are excellent at taking set pieces. Sneijder proved that time and again at Ajax and of course scored that marvelous free kick against Villareal. Sneijder can distribute the ball from any place on the pitch to any place on the pitch with pinpoint accuracy. His assist on Raul against Villareal is a good example. For me, the most amazing thing about Sneijder is that he can deliver these passes with both feet. Some players claim to be left and right footed but still prefer one over another. Sneijder doesn't. This extra weapon makes him extra versatile, dangerous and significantly decreases the time it takes to control the ball, turn, and continue play. Sneijder's off the ball movement is probably his most underrated asset. Just follow him around for an entire match and you'll notice how he always positions himself at the right place at the right time. At Ajax Sneijder was a box-to-box player which resulted in him having a unrivaled fitness level. You'll never see him have cramp attacks. So technique-wise Sneijder is top notch. But what sets him apart from so many other talented players is his passion, drive and work ethic. He gives 100% every game he plays, has both feet on the ground, and on top of that, displayed terrific leadership qualities in his last year at Ajax. All in all I believe that Sneijder is the total package. I've been an Ajax season ticket holder for the last 5 years and have witnessed the rise of young players such as Babel, Van der Vaart, Chivu, Ibrahimovic and Sneijder. I can say without a doubt that Sneijder is the best player, especially if you take into account the fact that he is rarely injured. The reason why people, understandably, assume that Kaka is the better player is because Sneijder has only played in the Dutch league. Although Kaka certainly has a longer list of credentials at the highest level he is also surrounded by worldclass players at both AC Milan and his national team, whereas Sneijder was by far the best man at Ajax and played in a promising, but underpeforming, national team. Sneijder can no longer be categorized as a promising talent. He is an established player with Champions League and World Cup experience. Purchasing Kaka will either put Sneijder on the bench or force the coach to move him to an unnatural position (after all, you can't sub a 50+ million acquisition). Either way, it will be a loss for Real Madrid and all genuine football fans in the world. Therefore I think Madrid shouldn't transfer Kaka.

I think Sneijder will be as good as Kaka both are in fact similar but Kaka is not a dead-ball specialist which Sneijder is. Sneijder hasn't been exposed to any big leagues. Eredivisie is a very good and strong league but its not as big as La Liga, EPL or Serie A which we all know. So far Sneijder has been impressive but I wouldn't say Sneijder is as good as Kaka yet but he has the potential to be. Its true that Calderon did make a promise but would it be worth it to pay such a high price for someone who may not be happy at Madrid, or he might expect to be player that the team will be built around. I think the new system is taking its shape slowly and during this process instead of getting Kaka we should worry about maintaining the depth of the squad since we have Sneijder and Guti is doing quite well too. We are lacking a young up and coming striker, Ruud and Raul are solid but there are no one to take their spots, both are 30. Higuain is good but we still haven't seen much from him, although there is promise there. Saviola is a talented striker but how will he fair with Real?? We don't know yet.
Dutch_Duncan: Kaka's best talent is carrying the ball which you seem to have left out. And although I haven't seen a lot of Sneijder, they do still seem worlds apart in that department. Now for the Kaka vs. Sneijder argument, I don't think anyone is saying Sneijder is better than Kaka, at least I know I am not. Kaka is strong on the ball but Sneijder does have the potential to match up to Kaka eventually provided he stays focused on the on his game and keeps improving. Plus they are somewhat similar in their playing styles but there are some differences as well. As far as adding Kaka to the line up goes, there is no need first of all its going to be a drama to get him, then we don't know how dedicated he will be to Real, considering he knows he is Calderon's golden boy and he will become untouchable once he comes to Real. I like Kaka and I think he is awesome asset to any team but he is already an established poster child of Milan. But if Kaka ends up in Real and continues what he is doing in Milan then Sneijder and Kaka can form a lethal attacking midfield, which rip any defence almost a will.
Kaka is a confirmed great player and probably will win the golden ball this year. he led his team to a champion's league victory Sneijder is a good player and played one and a half decent game with Real Madrid. He seems to have qualities but I don't think he'll ever dribble like Kaka. This thread shows how fast people can change their minds.
The thing is: Kaka = Impossible. Sneijder = Big but POSSIBLE release clause. Sneijder = New hero of the Bernabeu. I am extremely happy with this arrival.
When Guti retires or starts to show signs of aging on the pitch, yes. Kaka' will sell shirts, fill stadiums and get trophies for us.
If we buy kaka to replace Guti, then that'll mean Sneijder will become the new Guti. Sneijer is too good to be the next Guti.

Some of the posts in hee are amazing. Sneijder as good as Kaka Amazing what two good games can do. If he plays like he did in those two games for two or three years than yes, he is as good as Kaka. I like Sneijder a lot, but to compare him to Kaka is stupid. But just imagine:next year we replace old Guti with Kaka, so Sneijder and Kaka play together. damn
We don't need Kaka right now I guess, but a world class player like him is always welcome. But Sneijder and Kaka together, I really don't know, there's also a big debate on playing Van der Vaart and Sneijder in one team in the dutch team. I think next year our first objective will be a top class striker, Berbatov would be my option there.
