This is it. Finally regular season match of the year and unless Carolina tank their last two and the Battery win, it will be the last. Charlestons only consistancy this season seems to be inconsistancy. they will appear to be a team firing on all cylinders and creating ample goals to a team that cant seem to keep the ball out of there own net. This match can only have one result, a Battery win. anything else will mean an end to the wild ride of a season. Richardson is out. Fuller is Doubtful, Hopefully Lazo had a good honeymoon and will be ready to go. The match is on FSC at 8pm and the Battery supporters are hosting a big tailgate starting around 6pm pleanty of beer for all so stop by. also expecting a pretty big crowd so hopefully they will see a good result. Im going for a big Battery win (we are due!) 3-1.
Where will the tailgate be? A few friends and I are planning to head out to the game from Columbia and would love to meet some people before. We also need to get tickets. Suggestions? Which section is best?
The tailgate will be near the East Stand Entrance. we'll be starting around 6pm and so stop by! there will be free beer from a local brewmister, Mobius, as well as hot dogs and other things to eat. Should be easy enough to find. If your facing the the stadium when you pull in, it is the entrance on the right side (of course the sign that reads "East Stand Entrance" might be a hint too ) there should be some sort of pop up tent cover type thing and hopefully lots of people. As for inside. As the good LT said (Whats up and hope your enjoying En-ger-land, LT) Section E10 is wear its at. Hope to see you there! mikey
And someone at the tailgate should have some extra tickets so don't buy any. Drive safely and look forward to meeting you and your posse. We're going to need all the voices we can muster tomorrow night.
With Minn pounding Carolina 5-0 tonight, The ball is back in the Battery court. The Battery have to win to get the three points. after that, Carolina still have their match on Sat. vs. Califonia but they will have to get a win. Come on Charleston!
that is correct. It will be Carolina's 4th game in about 8 days. three on the road, tuesday wasin NE (an USOC overtime match) tonight in Minn and Sat in Cali. a tough road trip combined with tough matches. Sad thing if we both win, we would have a better win record than Carolina.
Pre-match write up in todays Charleston Post and Courier newspaper Battery need Win the weather should be fantastic tonight but dont think we will get as good a crowd as we got last FSC match as it is friday night whihc means high school football round here. should be a good match as Puerto Rico will be looking to revenge Charleston knocking them out of the play offs last year, and the Battery will be desperate for a win. I expect th Battery to come out guns ablazing and score a few times, but Im sure PR will give us a tough match. Fuller and Richardson will be out with injuries but the paper is reporting Alvarez and Lazo should be back. Up the Battery!!!
It's gonna be one HELL of a match. It would have been great to already be in the playoffs, but this has been an exciting, nail biting end to the season. Hope we can seal the deal.
got the drinks cooling, the chicken is pretty much cooked and I'll be leaving my house in about an hour to head on out to the tailgate. Hope everyone stops by the tailgate for a beer or two. E10 should be packed tonight and I have heard quite a few radio adverts on the radio for the match tonight. I know a few people are coming in from out-of-town for this one. This match has the makings of a super classico. Hopefully the Battery will put the pressure on Carolina and make them sweet it out for a few hours until their match tomorrow! Up the Battery!!!
Game was on but with a 20 minute "technical difficulties" delay. It was a very entertaining game. The Islanders held the score at 0-0. I guess this is the end of the season for the Battery.
