I used to count the hours and minutes until the next LAG match. Spend disproportionate hours on BS while at work, and allow myself to obsess over this team. But now, my wife just couldn't be happier. That's because i watch very little, write very little, and show very little interest in the Gals anymore. I think something inside is burnt out. I mean I really could care less if I miss the game this weekend. Perhaps because there's nothing left for this team in 2007. But loosing itself can't be the only reason. Loosing hasn't stopped me from watching and supporting the 49ers for the last 15 years. So it's got to be something else. Anyone else feeling a little disinterested?

I feel the same. In the past month and half Ive missed two games, shocking to my wife also. Both times I decided to take her someplace nice. On a drive through the woods, etc. Part of me, I admit, was for my own selfish reasons... (hehe, filthy minds you have).. ok, it was to magically unjinx our team, by not paying attention to them. That plan of mine CLEARLY didnt work.

It was the Pachuca game that officially burnt me out completely. I wasnt even phased by Beckham being out for the season. And that was wrong not to be phased by that. I grew sick with Petes own goal. Sick that this season was coming to a crashing end. The game continued on, we played some good ball, had some great chances, or great misses, depending on how you view them. I thought we could redeem ourselves after digging our own hole. My heart sank when Pete missed his PK. Afterall, he should have sank it. We were given a gift with the game on the line and Donovan up for the PK, and he missed. I lost my breathe. I became ill. My skin turned green. The dog pissed on the floor. The cat puked. Black was white, white was black. The world was turned upside down. A meteor hit my house and I didnt have meteor insurance.

Then, I figured Id just work overtime last saturday and make some money and forget the Gs for a couple weeks. My wife talked me into going to the game, so we went, had a great time before the game, enjoyed the dance competition and saw us lose yet again after a great first half.

I feel empty. I feel like our FO lets us down. TJ has a lot of good points. So do others here. With or without Beckham, our FO failed us. Even the players themselves failed us.

My doctor has recommended I take a break from Galaxy games and recommended Chivas USA. NEVER! I sucker punched him a la Harmse, he tried to head butt me, but since I watch our great LAG, I knew it was coming! I gave him a 3 doctor visit suspension and have since had a full physical from a nice female doctor instead.

    THE END

Totally understand, although I disagree. Obviously I don't pay my money, but it reminds me of last season when we played away at Luton. At 5-0 down the Leeds fans suddenly started banging out chants and supporting the lads. Its so hard to do, but hearing us drown out the home support with the verse to Marching On Together that goes "we've been through it alltogether, And we've had our ups and downs UPS AND DOWNS, But we're gonna stay with you forever, At least until the world stops going round" made me promise to do just that with Leeds. The fans can really be a 12th man. Hopefully there will be a run towards the end of the season where Galaxy can win five or six games, but I expect crowds to drop below 15,000 at HDC before this season is out. As long as you promise to go back next season.

Time for Lalas to go, its so hard to find any support for his teams now!

Right before I clicked on this thread, I went to the ticket management website for season ticket holders and posted the remaining seats for sale.

The Pachuca game was the final blow for me, too.

I didn't even bother to go to the RSL game, and was it a surprise that we lost to the next-worst team in our own stadium?

Lalas, it's time to man-up and step down. Save the propaganda for the next team you f*** up.

I just couldn't agree more. With all of you actually. But wait!!!!!! Alexi Lalas is throwing out all the stops. Get your very own collectors t-shirt #3 this weekend against Colorado. And if you're brave enough to show up for FC Dallas you'll get your very own LAG soccer ball.

You know what, I'm still pissed that I didn't get my lunchbox.

But I still can't be bothered to drive an hour just to see Alexi LA-lost's team flounder.

If I lived across the street from the stadium, I might come over to get the freebee. Then again, if I lived next to the stadium, I'd be dead by now.

I feel your pain buddy. Galaxy games are what use to get me through the week. Start work/school on monday morning and I'd think, "Well atleast I can look forward to the Galaxy game." After that horrible loss to chivas usa, i basically broke. I told my gf i wouldn't watch the following game. Being the fan i am, i watched and once again..LOSS. I can't quit this team but the last few weeks I feel less and less enthused about watching this team play. It's hard to think you've lost again before your team has even played. I can say I'm not feeling excited about the Colorado game this weekend. Maybe I'll finally start building that shed I've been saying I'd build for months. I rather do that then watch Gordon's bad first touch or watch Pete backpass or ******** up an easy play.

HaHAha, you guys kill me... But i'm kinda saddened that some of you are losing hope. Yeah I'm bummed out too, but the drunken dreamer in me refuses to give up. Yeah i know, i get the same looks everywhere i go. For me, soccer is like a religion, so i know something is amiss for the Galaxy right now, but like all sinners, they can repent, and have a chance for redemption. But even if the galaxy lose every game for the rest of the season, i'll still be a fan. An angry fan, but a fan. Soccer is all about regional pride so unless we get another team (Chivas is not included) in LA, the galaxy will always be my squad.

PS: their is no relegation, and although the odds are against us (I'm going to Vegas), we can still win the championship.

Good points but I think most of us really want to support the team. It's all the BS from the front office and Lalas in particular that is so tiresome that we dont' want to deal with it anymore. People have grown tired of hearing one thing and seeing something else....and then more increases in prices. The act is old and even long time fans are at the breaking point. The whole thing is really very sad.

Lalas is just an a$$ and the FO cares about the money and have lost sight of the big picture.

    We're spoiled.

For eight years being an LAG fan was EASY. We were dominant. We played attractive soccer. Our home field was a nightmare for the visitors. Even when we lost in the MLS Cup finals, we could rationalize that we were really the better club and the fates, weather, a bad bounce were against us.

Think about what it must have been like to be a Metrostars fan during that time...and never win a darn thing.

"These are the times that try mens souls. The summer soldiers and sunshine patriots...."

No this is no fun right now. And no, I am not excited about the game. But, for better or worse, I will be there and hope we catch a break or the ref goes blind or Colorado collapses with all the thick heavy sea-level air.....

It must be the inner Don Quixote in me taking over.....

A good post, you other guys better get used to it, in football there are peaks and troughs and not everyone has the credentials to handle it.

I am tired of the loosing, I am tired of the excuses, I am tired of the pandering. I will never tire of supporting my team. When years have gone by and a new team is formed and a new front office is in place I will still be there with the Gold of the galaxy running through my veins.

I suppose this is just part of being a fan. It's easy to support and love the team when we are winning 5-nil left and right, running away with the league and winning the MLS cup. It's much harder to do the same when the team is the laughingstock of MLS (and the soccer world in general for that matter). Teams go through ups and downs, and as fans we have to support them through it all. I know its hard when it seems like some of the players are even losing interest, but deep down they all care- and so do we. We will get through this. Lalas will leave. Beckham will get better. Vagenas will stay on the bench (as an assistant coach). We are the flagship franchise of the MLS and we will back on top before long. It's times like these that make the winning feel so much better. So when we finally win the Cup again, look back to these days when all seemed lost and remember how far we have come.

Right now the Galaxy is like a hot chick with varicose veins.

But seriously, they'll always be my team for better or for worse but it's hard to support the lads when you've got a rotten head of management and a money grubbing company controlling MY team. My heart says yes but my wallet says no.

I can't say I'm excited either about the upcoming games, and yet as game day gets closer, my glimmer of hope starts to glow a little brighter and I am compelled to pour my heart and soul into support for my team and watch on pins and needles hoping against hope that we finally get the job done.

I can totally understand you fans living in the LA area finding it hard to drag yourself to a game - but if you've got the finances to allow yourself to do it, I urge you to buck up and go. Support the team in full voice - once we return to winning ways, you'll look back on these times and be proud of yourself that you hung in there. And if you can't go in person, be there in spirit.

I'm counting the days until they come to Houston for their game. Got my tickets already. Hope we still have a chance for the playoffs by then, but if not, I'll still get to see them play.

This is how it will be, its a racing certainty. Galaxy are the Man U of the MLS, THEY DID NOT WIN THE TITLE FOR 26 YEARS, but it was inevitable that they would return to the top, the same goes for GALAXY its their destiny.

Like Beefcake, I'm waiting to see what funny thing happened.

These are trying times for us. I'm not really looking forward to Saturday's game either, but I'm going cuz I wanna show my support to the team, hang with friends and take a break from studying. Yeah, I suppose I could do other stuff, but I love soccer and I love the Galaxy.
