Derby County's Craig Fagan has been charged with violent conduct in relation to an incident involving Liverpool's Alvaro Arbeloa.
During Derby's 6-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday 1 September Fagan appeared to step on Arbeloa's leg, but it went unseen by referee Alan Wiley.
Fagan has until 1800 BST on Wednesday 5 September to admit or deny the charge, with the case to be heard the next day. If found guilty, Fagan faces an automatic three-match suspension.

    Very good!

It wasn't a badly timed tackle, it was a cowardly attack.

Glad it didn't keep a good man down.

At the time my gang at the local said "I bet they review that nasty piece of business".

Made up when he had the air-shot at the end there with only Reina to beat.

I chuckled at the sight of Fagan's being extended "an opportunity to admit or deny the charge." We all saw the match and the intentional spiking of Arbe's calf, with Arbe's back to the play. In fact Arbe was not even in play. Commentators suggested had it been seen, it deserved a red card. I agree.

Would love to see what he says for himself. There is no defense.

'Should Fagan be found guilty, he will receive a three-match ban.'

Should get more for trying to deny.

When I saw the tackle and the kick out by Fagan, I thought RED was in order and figured he'd get extra matches by the FA. Justice served. Good that he got the extra match ban. I can't see how he could deny it.

It's such an obvious stamp. One look at the video is enough to see it clearly. He was obviously going to be found guilty. His appeal was always going to fail and he serves an extra match suspension. Retrospective bans for violent conduct are long overdue.

Did you see his excuse.. "I didn't know his leg was there, I was trying to get the ball and get on with the game" obviously in the twilight world of Derby they have footballers with no legs. Where did he expect his leg to be?

I have the BBC highlights downloaded but, for the life of me, don't know how to post them. It's a 50+ Mb file. The stamp is noted and commented on.

    Alternatively, try RAWK.
