Perhaps, perhaps not; the Coco interest in New England (and New York) rumor's been floating around for well over a month now, and is getting renewed play in some sections of the Italian press as can be seen in this thread:

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=595788&page=2

From what I've read about the player he's:

    * Quite fond of the playboy lifestyle...
    * Has been dealing with injury and fitness issues of late...
    * He was once tagged with being a future great for Italy, but never lived up to his potential...

Sounds to me like his agent's trying to manufacture MLS interest in his client as a means to drum up interest from elsewhere and/or give the sense of leverage in dealing with other interested parties.

The Revolution would do well to take a look at an experienced player such as Coco, but would do better to find someone who'd be, well.. less likely to be in it for himself.

yea, I remember him as being touted as the "next Maldini"

But still, hes played with the best and is highly experienced. I'd take him hung over above Avery John any day. But seriously depending on his wage demands (less than DP) he could be a very good option

his experience intrigues me, and the pact that he can play a bunch of positions would help our lack of depth immensely.

I do have a conern about where he would play however. He's used to being a wing back, side back, or side midfielder in a basic 4-4-2. I don't think he'd replace John, Heaps, or Riley as a side back.

Which means he would replace Khano I suppose, which doesn't sound too bad now that I mention it.

Its not gonna happen though I need to remind myself of that.

There are more photos like these on the Internet than those of him actually playing:

sounds like a guy that could help the Revs, therefore they will not sign him

On the other hand, just for the sake of argument...

Maybe interest has been renewed and discussions have started up again in earnest with the falling through of the Petrovic deal.

The Revs are clearly lacking depth in defense. Well, they're lacking depth all over, but mostly in defense. Maybe they can work out a deal similar to Denilson's: one year guaranteed with a second year option.

At this point, I'll take it. His credentials sound very much like Denilson's. He was a huge star with huge potential that never quite panned out. At least he was released from AC Milan and not some Saudi Arabian team.

I have seen Coco play many teams and can say this. He is very talented. He also technically much more superior than a majority of players anywhere and does the job he needs to do. If this isnt even dp money we are talking about. SIGN HIM IMMEDIATLEY. Also he plays for my euro club team INTER!! He's also played for ac milan and barca, pretty damn good. big name, would draw italians

I'm gonna hope, a little. But I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen.

Theoretically sounds like a good idea. If he's a bit of playboy, what the hell, as long as its not affecting his performance on the field. From a PR standpoint having a "celebrity" player might get us some more press. The #1 source for Revs coverage in the Boston area for the last 2 years has been the Inside Track girls any-damn-way :)

    1. foxy lady was good enough for offerman:D

    2. falling short of potential... he'll fit right in here. look at our trophy case.

I agree. I'm skeptical. If the rummors come from here, I'm more likely to believe it. When they come from "there" (esp via agent) you know it's a leverage thing probably (or something is in play we don't know about)

let's all rejoice in the fact that there are even rumors that we could be upgrading the team (and this time for IMMEDIATE impact.) This is a good thing, nothing negative, please lets keep it positive, cuz its a good thing (especially since it might not be a DP)

    GO REVS!!!

I think he could be a good signing, pending how much we pay for him. He's not DP material and I think $200k is around where we should be paying him.

Right now I am way to cynical about every rumour of this team doing anything to believe it until he is on the field.

I know we're not going to sign him, but it's nice to pretend there's actually a chance of something happening.

There is NO WAY this happens, this guy actually sounds talented and useful, there's absolutely no chance of it happening.

LOL, I remember hearing this story about Man City not signing a player because he showed up to the trial smoking a butt, check out Coco's Wikipedia entry, it was HIM!! LOL, maybe there is a chance of this happening after all, sounds right up the Revs alley.

Does anyone know if he's left-footed? And can he add anything on corners or free kicks?

I wonder when European agents will figure out that the Revs are the LAST team to mention when they're trying to drum up interest in their clients?

Seriously, they must have no idea what goes on here. By mentioning the Revs as a possible destination they lose credibility.
