Our hoops are in a Cup Final, granted that it's not quite the MLS CUP. Need to get a good atmosphere for the Cup Final at PHP, I'll be there.
PACK THE STANDS!!!!! Cheap tix and excellent soccer!!!! C'mon FO let us support our Hoops w/cheap seats.
stevie morrow's RED & WHITE ARMY! stevie morrow's RED & WHITE ARMY! stevie morrow's RED & WHITE ARMY! stevie morrow's RED & WHITE ARMY!
We need tons of flyers at the Toronto game on Saturday. Maybe $5 GA tix? Lets make this a F'n sellout. 3 years in a row, cup finals in Dallas. We're finally in one
The best idea yet, just make every seat $5 GA, here's the impact. 1) Fans who want good seats will get there early 2) Better atmosphere for the players, who effing deserve it 3) The money you might lose from tickets you could gain back in concessions and future ticket sales if the person has a good experience 4) That person might get interested and buy season tickets With this game being midweek, we can't afford this to be another crappy midweek game. It's a bloody CUP FINAL! My point is that if they start early enough, the fans will come. But if the FO waits untill a week before the game to advertise it, there will NOT be a good turnout. Period.
From the FCD Blog........ FC Dallas season ticket holders and FCD Hoops Nation members will have a presale opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2007 Open Cup Championship Game from Sept. 5-7. Tickets will be available to the general public through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. CT on Sat., Sept. 8. Ticket prices are $20 (Sideline West), $15 (Sideline East), and $9 (Endline). Groups of 20 or more purchasing tickets in Sideline East or Sideline West will receive a $3 discount. Group discounts are not available for Endline seats. Parking at Pizza Hut Park for this match will be free. The Blog says Wed 10/3 but the FCD front page says Tues 10/2.
WWW.USOPENCUP.COM claims Wednesday with live broadcast on FSC. I'm guessing they are right and the FCD site is wrong. $20 and $15 for sideline sections isn't bad....that's a decent discount for the shaded side from regular season games. I was hoping for $5 tickets on the endline, though. Not bad...and props for them getting the info out in less than 24 hours. NOW......I wanna see some MOTHERF'ING PROMOTION for this game. I wanna hear ads, I wanna see billboards, I wanna see publicity. Here's a chance to gain back some of the lost opportunity from when we hosted 2 MLS Cups.
$10 GA tickets for all Open Cup games, ever, would be a great tradition to start. It would make Open Cup games stand apart and would increase demand for the games.
Yet impossible to execute since an Open Cup game is typically included in season ticket packages. STH's should be able to get their seat for just about any soccer game at PHP. The problem is that the endline should be GA every game of the season......MLS, exhibitions, USOC...whatever.

Because apparently you can't even buy tickets yet...at least not from the FC Dallas website. Christ. Update the site already. That's not even a lot of work. Shouldn't the potential for a final match have already been anticipated and the site ready for the change? BTW on another note WTF is Faith and Family night? I have tickets to the September 30 match against Houston, but when I went looking for the non-existent OC Final tix, I saw the match is being called Faith and Family night. I have to say that's not the atmosphere I was hoping to come to the last Sunday of the month. I hope the FO are at least smart enough to not sell endline tickets to the F&F folks, they might not be happy if they sit over there and people are swearing and whatnot (as they should be allowed to do).
I dream of the day we can impose this through the whole stadium, finally getting an advantage from fans being close to the action and the heat in Dallas. Now we just need some fans....
No, but I just got an email for Hoops Nation members, and we can BUY them before everyone else. Here's the excerpt from the email I got just awhile ago:
First off, we are selling to our season ticket holders first. Hope you understand us taking care of them before selling to the public. Second, yes, we've looked at the specific locations for the F&FN and I'm pretty sure that people will be located in the right areas. We're working on the date discrepancy. It is October 3.
Speaking of season ticket holders, here is the form for them for the USOC game. Note that they are getting a special price for the sideline seats. View attachment 3216
Just saw a commercial on channel 8 but no mention of the Open Cup Final. It was the generic commercial they run sometimes. Hope they add Open Cup info!!!
From what I've heard, we're focusing on advertising this Saturday first and foremost. No idea on what the USOC budget will be.
Yeah, I understand, and thanks for the clarification. Sorry for going off, I'm just in a bad mood about tickets because I've had such a hard time getting them sent this season.
