Revs related.......(I edited the headline to make his name familiar to us.) Italy legend Zenga takes Dinamo reins http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=460503&cc=5901
This from Ralston explains the subdued post-game: I also liked FDA's timing of the fracas. It took nearly five minutes for play to resume just from that incident and only four minutes of time were added. There were clearly other stoppages including a goal. Added time should have been at least 7 or 8 minutes.
•In what may be a professional sports’ first, the New England Revolution announced last week that it obtained FC Dallas’ natural first-round selection in the 2008 Supplemental Draft in exchange for salary budget considerations. Translation: New England traded salary-cap space for a draft pick. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/wizards/story/260469.html
How's that a first? Teams do that all the time in MLS, especially on draft day. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty dumb for the Revs. However, it surely wasn't a first.
I didn't say it was accurate - I just wasn't sure if this is something people knew about - plus its a supplemental draft pick, so 5th round basically.
Here are some of the Italian newspaper reports about Coco: http://www.calciotoscano.it/modules.php?op=modload&name=PagEd&file=index&page_id=17716 http://sport.alice.it/it/cmc/calcio/200736/cmc_113155.html
I cant wait for when the Revs trade their DP to LA for something along the lines of X-Games dates at Gillette or an extra Beckham game.
I wonder how much he would cost? (I imagine his agent responding "Quanto avete?" - How much do you have? I'm thinking a 30 year old Inter defender would be up in the Denilson range.)
To which the fans reply "Non sappiamo!" (we don't know!) hahah... I apologize to any Italian-speakers, I did use babelfish.
