Senor Cool will be listed as Doubtful for Saturday night's game after picking up a strained tongue Saturday night. The injury occurred when he was yelling at Eddie "The Ass" Johnson in injury time of the first half. An ear injury was proven just to be a slight strain and will not be a serious injury. Said Senor Cool, "I will do my best to make sure I am ready to go Saturday night."
Houston needs to win out if they have a shot at the SS....Chivas is looking real good right now and they have games in hand.
With all of our current injuries and the recent form of RSL (plus some of their new additions), I'm going for a 1-1 tie.
RSL has those new Argies that seem to helping them out. But I still hope we can do better than the last RSL performance. 1-0
We don't need to know what else SenorCool did with his tongue on Saturday night. I missed my Dynamo on Saturday. They can't lose to RSL. Nope-nope.
Glad to see y'all continued the Journey tradition since I missed the Mezz postgame! Spotted this graffiti on Art Vandaley's fb and found it appropriate.
Looks like it's College Night: "For one night only catch a Dynamo game for just 10 bucks! Just show your valid college ID at the West Box office and 10 Bucks gets you in the game! Watch your Houston Dynamo take on Real Salt Lake at U of H's Robertson Stadium"
I think we have already dropped too many points for the SS. That ship has more than likely sailed. Let's hope we hold on to one of the top spots in the Western Conference...if we can.
Maybe but a lot of the teams around us in the standings play each other this week. If we can get some helpful results in some of those games and a win ourselves it will stay very interesting. DC United plays Chivas and New England this week. Chivas also plays NY. Ties in some of those games would really help. We can't do much about DCU and NER but we still play FCD and Chivas so we control our own destiny in the West. Full points against RSL twice and the Galaxy twice would really help in the overall race and in the West. That starts with 3 points this Saturday. I'm not giving up on the Shield until we are out of it.
Any guesses on the Houston starting lineup? Who is it that will be out with injury? I would guess RSL's lineup to be: Rimando Kipre/Pope/Mantilla/Kotshcau Talley/Beckerman/C. Brown Eskandarian/Morales/Espindola with Findley and Andy Williams coming on as second half subs.
RSL has definitely improved their lineup with the addition of the three Argies. Kreis looks like he knows what he's doing in terms of personnel. It would be nice to give the fans in Salt Lake, who have been supporting a poor team in good numbers, some optimism for next year. Anyway, this is probably a great time to play the Dynamo. Our midfield is a hospital ward. Assuming all these guys are available - and I may have missed someone's most recent injury in the wave of injury news: Onstad Waibel (or Mulrooney) - Robinson - Cochrane (or Ianni) - Barrett Clark Mullan (or Jacqua or Mulrooney) - Ashe (or Jacqua) DeRo Ngwena - Ching (or Jacqua or C. Wondolowski) It's not clear whether Ching will be back this week. According to one of our local Spanish language papers (click herefor the injury updates thread) Mullan is doubtful. Ching and Mullan are probably the key pieces. If Stuart Holden is available, then that would also greatly help the cause.
Ching said on the FSC post game show after the KC game that he felt fine and could have played against the Wiz if the Dom needed him too The Fake Real Madrid team broght three guys from Argentina that seem to be playing pretty damn good. I say bring it to them Che's 5-0 Dynamo. Vengeance is ours, just don't give up the ball in the back Capi. Barrett.........please
I watched RSL live online when they played the Wizards at home and the Argentine players seemed to make a big difference to the RSL team. One of them especially so, though I can't for the life of me recall his name now. But for a team who have done so badly all season it just seems that this is the wrong time for the Dynamo to be playing them. I hope not of course.
I share that concern about the timing. RSL may be on an upswing while we're struggling with injury issues. Forget how they were playing early in the year. They may have figured out how to fix some of those problems and are just a better team now.
Most all of it is personnel. In: Beckerman, Sturgis, Findlay, and the Argentinians Out: Cunningham, Adu, Klein Beckerman and Sturgis actually give them a MF and some bite. The Argentinians are just settling in so no telling how they will end up doing, but they look pretty good thus far..... But we are at home, we ought to win. (of course we have said that three or four games in a row now)
A couple of other promotions have also been added for this game - see the "Promotions" section in the first post. Also, the Buzz, 94.5 FM, has been doing ticket giveaways for this game all week.
