    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously ... this is so sadly friggin' pathetic that all you can do is laugh! Abso-friggin-lutely amazing! Unless they pull a miracle out of their asses, we're going into the heat of the season 2 players short on our senior roster. We're going to attempt to win the treble with basically 14 players that Nicol can play.

    Holy crap ...

BTW, since I know the "But he was injured, what do you want them to do" responses are coming, I figured I'd cut them off. Yes, that's all well and good. But why wait till so late to try and get something done? When you wait that long, and it doesn't work out, you don't exactly leave yourself a lot of time to correct it, do you?

So Plan A Failed. Plan B Failed. Hmm ... surprise! Hell, I'm impressed they even had a Plan B.

What was Plan A again? I think I missed it.

It is very odd that they couldn't have either kept Hernandez or filled at least one slot, oh, months ago...

But we're going to make the playoffs...

We have 3 defenders for 4 spots
    3 wingers for 2 spots
4 central midfielders (including Flood as the 4th) for 3 spots
    3 strikers for 2 spots.

That means one injury anywhere on the field, and there is zero depth at that position. Kraft and the front office are pathetic.

Plan A was the "Name Player" and the "Not-so Name Player" ... of course neither were signed.

And that's a successful season to many.

We're tied on points, but they own us on goal differential.

Well, nothing to do now but regroup and start looking for that late August 2008 signing that won't help us.

The big one, though, is games in hand.

Does anyone know for sure what the tiebreakers are for the SS? I remember Columbus winning it in 2004 on something quirky like goals against. Since MLS formally endorses it and sends the winner to the CCC, it must be something more legit.

    It'll be the normal tiebreakers.

    As per MLSNet...

ah, the joy of the "revs FO can't do anything right" brigade is just sickening... as usual. You guys are worse than Fire fans.

Damned if they TRY to sign someone. Damned if they don't.

as if it really mattered. Not much chance that anything but the top 14 players on ANY MLS team are going to make a difference.

    Ask LA.

Like an angry chief said after my entire class booted the bistable multivibrator test in Nuke School: "When the sub is going down, it does matter if you tried, it matters if you get the job done."

Repped...the FO doesn't get any points for trying.

FWIW, both the Revs' allocations "expire" as of May 15, 2008.

Trust me, we're not particularly joyful right now.

And I don't damn the Revs if they try to sign someone. That's actually encouraging. I damn them if they don't actually sign someone.

They've had every resource they could possibly ask for with which to improve their team this year, and they haven't done it. There are three possible explanations:

    1. They're too cheap.

    2. They're too apathetic.

    3. They're incompetent.

Which of those explanations makes you all warm and fuzzy?

    I object your honor.

Having a "full roster" and DP's "present and accounted for" don't count as getting the job done, since perfect attendance is not the job at hand.

Yep. The job at hand is cheap skating your way to mediocrity.
