so after hearing just about everything from all the newspapers...isn't yallop suppose to get fired today?

also, lalas was nowhere in sight last night...bravo was running the show as lalas did not make an appearance at any time before or during the game.

I think Lalas is the problem here. He turned a championship team into a last place team. The club keept getting worse with every move he made. He has only brought in one quality international player and he missed a pk. See ya Lalas no hard feelings. It just wasn't fun with you here.

The Galaxy should construct a pillory in the LA Riot Squad corner and make Lalas watch the rest of the season from there.

Lalas makes me think of that line Tony Soprano had: "'I'm like King Midas in reverse. Everything I touch turns to sh*t."

Me2 I feel bad for him I know he has been trying hard to make our team
to become a better soccer team.
He has a few class b players under him to make look bad.

BUT his boss must go.This guy is a big b/s

both yallop and have to go. maybe yallop isn't truly at fault, but to make a clean start they will need a new management team. once the season is over it will be time to show both frank and lalas the door. no need to bring someone in now only to have them get pummeled in the mess those two (especially red) made.

Yallop has to go, because no one dare criticize beckham. When you can't fire the player, you fire the team coach.

When will they be fired? Good question. The sooner the better I hope! How Lalas landed that position beat's the heck out of me. He's in way over his head. As for the coach well, yea I've seen better but for the record it's the players' that play the game, not him. The back line has been awful this year. They just stink! The keeper is ok but he's never given a chance to catch his breath as that back line let's almost everything through. Beckham's doing just what I thought he would be doing which is not too much. They say he's 32 but to me moves like a player much older & Landon is well, Landon. He's got great speed & pace & scores a good goal now & then but that's about it. Write this season off guys', it's over.

I like Lalas for his willingness to talk directly to fans, but Yallop is not the problem. It wasn't his job to make the player moves before the season started rather than in the middle of it.

Lalas is just, well, somebody that want's to be in show business or at least connected to it. But I do agree with you it's not really the manager's fault. The blame should be brought down on the players'. Other than maybe the keeper, Pavon, & maybe Landon when he's on the rest of the players' just don't cut it at all. That back line is just awful. I'm sure the manager has very little to do or say about who's going to play in what position & so on & that's his part of the blame if it's true for not telling Lalas to back off & sit in the front office. The season is all about over for this team anyway but look on the bright side all the European leagues have kicked off so at least there is some quality games to be seen!

Here's a big FU to AEG for keeping Lalas and Yallop in the seat as long as they have. Meanwhile we've got loyal season-ticket holders and other fans who deal with poor service, insufficient parking, and losses to teams like RSL.

To all the Beckham nay-sayer's............. anyone with even a mildly trained eye for soccer can see that in his limited time on the pitch, things happen with the ball at his feat. He rarely loses possession and triggers offensive opportunity almost every time he has the ball.

Here are my locks for this week and the rest of the season:

-Yallop and Lalas are out. Today is Labor Day....... they should take an indefinite extention to the holiday effective immediately
-Donovan out. Love the guy......... but he'll be gone after this season. Predictions........ back to San Jose or the EPL. He'd be an interesting replacement for McBride at Fulham?
-Oust Cannon. I like the guy, but lets make room in the budget and let young Cronin step into the role. He's ready.
-Lacking speed up top? Then get rid of Buddle, Pavon, and Gordon for crying out loud.
-Klein, I enjoyed your bike........ but your too old and we're re-building.
    Cronin
    Jazic, Xavier, Randolph, Albright
    Martino, Becks, Harmse, (Open)
Donovan & ....... you ready? new signing Kenny Cooper!!!

Nice read but what's a former pro doing posting here? I would think you would be on Icons.com selling off all your former gear like the rest of the pros' do. Here's a more interesting read ...

Will one of the Mods' please close this thread? Please! It's already been done to death & I think we have run this one out as far as it can go.

If any of you here you live in the states have a happy Labor Day Holiday!:)

Hey guys out west. Look at the bright side of your situation. You don't have a single player being watched for possible export to a top European team. (It would be rude for someone to add that you have only two players who could cut it with a USL team.)

i would be ok with yallop staying on for another season, but his comments about the pressure of being in the limelight are worrisome.. if he wanted to bask in anonymity, he shouldnt be a coach in a pro league.

i agree with the anti-lalas bent, though. i blame him and AEG for the backloaded schedule and the horrifying player management history.

As for you, HBFORMERPRO, you cant be serious about LD going to the EPL - to FULHAM, no less? Are you serious? That is one of the more inane comments I've read on BS this year. Congrats. First of all, what makes you think LD wants to go to the EPL? Second, what makes you think the EPL wants him? Third, why Fulham - just because they have 4 yanks on their roster? Fourth, McHead will return! no need to replace him.

First, Donovan has said he might like to play in the EPL someday. Second, if you don't know why at least a few EPL teams would definitely want Donovan, then you have very little soccer understanding. Third, why not Fulham? What the hell's your beef if someone finds that interesting? Fourth, McBride is on his last legs, they WILL need to replace him, if not this year or next, then probably then next (certainly long before Donovan is past his prime).

A greater presence like klinsmann would've reamed beckham out for wanting to go the international friendly with germany. Yeah, when are those 2 going to be canned? Lets be honest, the galaxy need to think about doing something that will gain press in a good way...getting klinsmann as coach/manager will retain or recoup the international marketability of the team that was lost in light of beckham's injury. Remember, they still have to pay for DB as well as make money in other ways aside from tickets at home depot center. If the fizzle has gone out of the galaxy and being paid to play in NZ or Sydney or Asia is in danger, then something must be done. Despite being brought in for marketing purposes, lets not forget that klinsmann is no slouch. Pay him whatever, just bring back the press.

I agree with most of what you have said but do you think Klinsmann would be able to run the team his way without Lalas & co attempting to turn him into a puppet manager? It's one of the reason's Klinsmann declined to take the position being in charge of the US national team. The USSF wanted to keep him on a leash & of course Klinsmann said ... No Thanks! As things are at the moment with the Galaxy regardless what the club says' about Beckham just being another player I'm pretty sure Beckham run's the show & get's what he want's. Having Klinsmann on board in charge of the Galaxy I agree would be a good move provided the front office stay's in the background & give's him complete control but it wouldn't exactly be good for Beckham as Klinsmann will not play favorites or stand for any player whoever it could be telling him how to run things.
