Well I figured I'd start this thread as a form of keeping ourselves from pure outright anger and depression. I guess the whole point of this thread is to leave behind a memory of a better, happier LA Galaxy side.

I remember going to my first Galaxy game in the Rose Bowl in 98'. I had watched the team since 96' but this was my first time watching them play live. I don't know how to explain it but I fell for this team hard. I have always been a HUGE soccer fan and having a local team REPRESENT me and my city was just amazing. Anyway, my memory comes from a summer night where I went out to watch the Galaxy. I left the rose bowl happy that night. El Tanque hurtado scored a beautiful goal off a cienfuegos pass. That cemented my love for the team. The rest of that season was just amazing. Too bad our Cup run died early in the playoffs.

Anyway if anyone wants to contribute to some happy Galaxy moments that keep you coming back to this team, go on and share.

From the time Cobi Jones goes out onto the field until the time he comes off, I am HAPPY!

Not only is he my FAVORITE, he is the SEXIEST player in the MLS!

I also think that every minute that Cobi is on the field for the rest of this season he should be wearing the Captains band.

I will continue to watch the games no matter what the rest of the season is like because Cobi is worth it.

Go Cobi Go. Your fans will always love you!!!!

Winning MLS Cup 2002 on my dad's birthday. Will never forget it.
Opening up the HDC to a 2-0 win over the Crapids. Will never forget it.
Being in Frisco, watching us win MLS Cup 2005. Will never, ever forget it.
    Beating Chivas 8 times.

The 2007 season. Will definitely want to forget it.

I have two favorite Galaxy memories.

1996, last game of the regular (inaugural) season, and my birthday. Score tied 1-1, Jorge Campos comes sprinting off his line and pulls his pants off! What the? He comes in as a forward, gets a great pass and streaks up the line, but has a defender to beat. So he sombrerito's the defender and sends the perfect cross in for the game winner. Spectacular play, and it was the goalie!

2002: Last game of the regular season, my birthday, and we're in San Jose. I got more threats in Spartan than I did when I wore my Dodgers stuff to the new Pac Bell/SBC/ATT park (never made it to Candlestick). Anyway, if we win this, we win the Supporter's Shield. San Jose pressures early and often, missing inches here, and Hartman plays out of his head. He even saves a penalty in the first half. That's when I got a lot of abuse; I stood up, saw some other LA fans standing up, and we started cheering at each other. Anyway, long story short, Ruiz gets "fouled" in the box, converts the PK, and a near brawl breaks out at the kickoff. This was a real damn rivalry, and my friends (not Galaxy fans) told me to keep it down or else we'd all get our butts kicked. Final whistle, wandering back to the car, hung out w/ a bunch of Riot Squad types, generally, an amazing time.

*Driving to Pasadena an 2 hours before the match on opening day...then realizing that opening day of MLS was actually a week later...

    * Galaxy/Real Madid... HDC...getting stuck looking for parking...running across the carparks to make it to our seats only to get in an arguement with a big Spaniard who was sitting in our spot..

*Watching The Galaxy play the Metrostars at the Rosebowl in 99 with my dad...A year before he died...
A meaningless game...but the only game we ever saw together in the US...

No worries... good times are around the corner...

Being at Staples Center for our MLS Cup celebration. I remember Ruiz bought a watch for someone or someone bought a watch for Ruiz, some kind of bet that was going on, pretty cool. Of course the after party was awesome and I got to hold the cup and take pics with it. Pete, for as much as he frustrates on the field, that day took it upon himself to take pics with fans and I almost fell over when he said "here, you hold it". I've never held any other sporting trophy and frankly don't care to.

I went to my first game in 02 when we played the Crapids at the Rose Bowl for the playoffs. It was the last game at the Rose Bowl ever. I was only 14 and I started to follow the team because of Ruiz. I remember walking into the stadium in the 22nd minute and being stuck in awe at the crowd and stadium. We had a very knowledgeable fan base back then. Anyways Ruiz scored the second I sat down and I had a blast.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

    Galaxy are losing every game.

Leeds are going to win the league even with a 15 point deduction.

Having had a sh*tty summer with Leeds getting well and truly shafted by the Football League, and them imposing an illegal, and unjustified penalty, Galaxy's odd wins kept me in love with the game.

Now its Leeds winning every game, and attracting 30,000 fans to games again, and Galaxy are playing sh*t. Can't wait to see a G's game next season.

    GO GALAXY!!

AND F*CK OFF, TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!

I follow a team in the UK that goes beyond the call of duty in disappointing me. But they are my team and I love them.

Don't know what it is about you lot, but I get the same feeling here. Being interested in LAG has enriched my football experience, look in every day, watch when I can. We may suck at the moment, but it will get better, and suck or not I am a little in love with Galaxy too.

I must be a masochist as well as an optimist. Is that a little contradictory?

Not sure about the date, but it was when MLS was still starting at forty five minutes and couting down until zero. The galaxy were palying DC at RFK. The clock hit zero, so the game should have been over, but in the last second, a galaxy player was fouled and the ref let them take the free kick irregardless. After much bickering, Cienfuegos steps up to take the kick, and curls it past the keeper for the winner.

First season at the HDC. I was sitting in my first year partial season seats - upper deck. Sellout crowd against?? couldn't tell you. Kevin Hartman saved the win going absolutely airborne to stop a penalty kick. The crowd went absolutely nuts and so did I. Good times.

If youre talking about the "eats"
The vendors outside the Rosebowl selling hotdogs wrapped in Bacon and onion after the game..eating three of those...then heading to the 35er and getting blitzed...Burping it up all night as you tried to explain soccer to a 19 year from PCC....
Okay... maybe a bit too much info
