    Hi Guys,

I have been watching the highlights here on ESPN classic and was wondering why there were so many empty seats?

Is this because David wasn't playing or something?

    Cheers

We always have emtpy seats on sell-outs. I'm sure David not playing was a reason for some.

There really weren't many empty seats at that game. Now, in the SuperLiga game vs. DC there were empty seats.

It was soldout and looked like it.

The crowd was fine for the Galaxy against RSL. The team needs to finish their scoring opportunities was the problem.

As for the SuperLiga Final, the team was restricted to selling 12,500 seats due to Cal State Dominguez Hills being in session.

Are you sure it was the RSL vs LAG game? because this game was exclusively broadcast on HDNET which means no other network had the rights to broadcast the game nor the highlights. I have a feeling you were watching the Superliga match or an old game

Perhaps they were seeing shots of the center season-ticket holder section that always seem to have empty seats.

Could it be that those seats had people, but those people were out standing in line for nachos?

In any case, a sell-out means that all the tickets were sold, not that everyone who bought a ticket attended the game.

Those seats cost twice as much as the seats on the opposite side of the stadium center section, and are often the give-away seats to major sponsors.

Based on the thread title, I thought I was going to read a score:

    Empty Seats: 2
    Salt Lake: 0

Plus, those are the seats that get you entrance into the restaurant. So a lot of those people are sitting up there having dinner while watching the game, instead of being in their seats.

They are also seats for ALL MLS games at HDC. You have to buy LAG AND Chivas tix to sit there, so not only are they more expensive per seat, there are twice as many games in the typical "Club Seat" season package. And they are not sold on partial season plans - you "lease" the seats for a year or you don't sit there. I don't know if its still true, but at least at one time I was told that the LAG and Chivas ticket staffs don't even handle those sales - all done by HDC/AEG not the teams.

I suppose some of those empty Club Seats could be Chivas fans' seats, people who were not attracted by this marquee matchup between the two worst teams in MLS.

What was amazing is that as many people showed up as did, even though there was no "Beckham Effect" in play.

Lets hope to get more fans in the seats.

I have my ticket for the Colorado game!
