My 90 y/o mother-in-law commented the other night that watching the Rapids v LA match last week bored her. She couldn't adapted to the slowness of the play after having watched all of the 2006 World Cup matches. She expressed her longing for the return of football at the WC level. Clearly gramma made a rather insightful observation even at her age at level of soccer sophistication. MLS should not aim at her as a target audience!

Why has there been a good amount of stupid threads the last week or so, of they have no real importance to the Rapids. Post something stupid in another thread.

We already have a DP thread, we already have a From the Pitch thread-where everything related to it should be posted in there. And at least wait for the season to be over before we start creating a wish list, these things will all be helpful...

[sorry for my little rant, but stop making stupid threads that are irrelevant]

Teddy... What are you babbeling about? Either read through your posts before you hit send, or stop drinking so heavily this early in the day.

I was under the impression that the majority of the Rapids marketing has been targetted at the dippin-dots/cream-of-wheat crowd. Looks like they're going to have to speed up the game to land that coveted demographic.:D

WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS THIS THREAD IS POINTLESS.
    *can it be anymore clearer*

WE ALL KNOW THAT THE MLS HAS A SLOWER PACE TO THE GAME, WE ALL KNOW WERE NOT THE EPL OR SPANISH PREMIER DIVISION, AND WE ALL KNOW THAT WE CANT CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THAT, UNLESS YOU DEVELOP YOUR KIDS INTO WORLD CLASS TALENT.

And hopefully, the speed and technical part of the game will change overnight. Cause thats what we all want right...

We all know that the Rapids market to soccer mom nation, and the Dippn Dots crowd, why would they market to avid fans? That would be just crazy...[and ruin the 'family' entertainment value, the Rapids present]

woah, who the hell pissed in your cream of wheat? This is a public forum, I don't see what's so wrong with posting this, there was no other "grandma's comments on MLS thread."

Quit backseat moderating and start using the ignore feature if people are bugging you.

"What a snub?" Please. Comparing a 30-game league season in a domestic league to an elimination tournament held once every four years and featuring national teams from every corner of the globe?

I suppose the average La Liga and Premier League matches bore Ma Kettle, too.

My wife's aunt's second husbands niece from West Virginia, who is also her sister, having once watched a group of gay Berliners, not that there's anything wrong with that, play hackey-sack on the pottsdamer platz while a group of Berliners in a near by bar were watching the Germans play the US in World Cup in Korea was bored by the game as well.

What higher appeal to authority could possibly be provided that would be more incontrivertable than that?

Clearly, old mum's snub is simply second rate.

Your mother in law rocks, awesome thread, maybe try your Tivo at the first fast forward speed for her? If she is like a lot of 90 year olds all that will leave for you to do is come up with an explanation of why MLS plays 45 minute matches?
