I've not ruled out the possibility that this is all a load of shit and it's just supposed to help win us over.

I doubt that the Glazers will sell it for such a price. I believe that the club is worth more than that.

I don't want the Glazers to sell although it may rid us of some debt?

They said they want to be in for the long term and if this club has proved anything in the last 20 years, it's that continuity brings success, not constant change......

I think it is a bit ignorant to reply with just a face and no words

If the Glazer's do sell at some point, I wonder what the new MUST strategy would be if United was then owned by somebody who owned the club debt free?

If Glazers did ever sell..I would love it to be a billionaire from Dubai..They are becoming the richest! Can't see the Glazers selling for a good long time. If we did get Chinese or Asian owners, Ji Sung Park & Dong Fangzhou would be the big faces of the club..

Yes we do. I'm sure nobody needs any reminding.

Well, this is Manchester United under Ferguson. I don't think he'll be put in that situation.

Can't be worse than the Yank chants we currently have.

    :)

I would rather prefer the dubai group to the chinese as they involve the royal family of dubai.
They are all very rich people and their wealth even puts roman abramovich into perspective. They even have a history of supprting football clubs and our the rulers of their country and deputy ruler of the uae.
The big brother of the maktoum family is a liverpool fan and was rumoured to have a friendship with fergie stemming from horseracing while the younger brother is a manchester united fan and is also the half owner of a1 gp.

With the chinese you cannot guarantee anything as their are not many filthy rich chinese and their government can bring anyone down in days.

First this story originated in the tabloids.

Second, does seriously believe the Glazers brought Utd because they are such big football fans?

Third, in such a highly leveraged buyout the goal can only be to unlock a rich cash stream somewhere that they can trouser, or achieve a capital gain.

Given the propensity of any loose change after the debt to go on players, the cash stream idea seems unlikely. So one can only assume that somewhere, sometime in the short to medium term, they need to drop equity.

200m would represent nearly a 100% return on their stake. When you consider that it is rumored that their equity is also borrowed, they will be bloody laughing.

There are buyers all over the shop. Look at them crawling all over Arsenal like flies.

Maybe my post was badly worded?

"An attempt to raise the interest levels of any potential buyers, either in the near future, or at a later date by putting out a fabricated story," might have been better, I think.

Got to run before they lock me up.

Whether the bids are real or not, no one seems to be saying that 1 billion pounds is not a realistic valuation. That should put to rest the fans fears that the Glazers didn't hadn't a clue about what they were doing, had no worthwhile business plan and Utd would implode under the debt :)

Get ready to be happy, then. The debt is due to be paid off on the 5th of Never.

I've never seen anyone do an estimate of when the debt will be paid off. How could they - no financial data is being released except our overall yearly revenue for these "richest" teams list stuff. I would imagine though that it will be at least 15 years before the light is seen at the end of the tunnel, and that's just a guess.
