Harkes won a goal of the year award in England for a long distance effort when he was with Sheffield Wednesday. Unfortunately doesn't appear to be on YouTube.

Compilation of Bobby Convey for Reading 05-06 (the 1st vs Millwall particularly nice & 2:46 vs Norwich City, "if you get a chance to see that one on the telly, do so"):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKNEo3iMHDA

DMB for Man City vs West Ham was pretty nice:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02k1PhFSb8o

A great DMB compilation from PSV 04-05 (clowning defenders in opener & upper 90 effort at 2:39 both stand out):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KWOCtwZ8-4

McBride "brilliant header" for Fulham vs. Everton:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbyqOsj3r4M

A nice McB Fulham compilation despite a terrible old Queen song (spinning scissor kick at 0:58 is pretty sweet):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mKFJYf1kfE

Jay Demerit earned man of the match honors for the game winner in the promotion final for Watford, nothing spectacular but a nice header (opener):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvXrUFBmqdw

Conor Casey scored a goal for Hannover 96 that kept Leverkusen up in the Bundesliga a couple of years back, but it's not on YouTube and I don't know what kind of quality it was.

A "stupendous strike" for Jemal Johnson for Wolves:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxuFsx1g9s

Jeremiah White long-distance FK for Guegnon (opener):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_SqiR9leKo

Brian West doing it himself for Fredrikstad vs Odd Grenland:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc2uSUDxV5I

Last, and quite possibly least, Adin Brown for Aalesund (0:27):

Great job. I wonder if Friedel's goal is out there somewhere?

Connor Casey didn't score a lot of goals at Mainz, but he had one absolute cracker from long distance. A rocket in the upper corner. Might be out there somewhere.

I remember John O'Brien had an amazing goal early in his Ajax career, although I've never seen it.... someone said it was ranked among the top-10 all-time in a fan poll.

I remember hearing about O'Brien scoring a goal for Ajax that was voted the best goal in the last twenty years for them or something. Have not seen it though.

Actually, it was about 17th or 18th, which is saying quite a lot for a team that scores so many eye-popping goals.

I thought I had the clip on my hard drive, but alas I do not.

The quick description: JOB applied a leaping side-kick volley to a high bouncer from about 20 yards slightly left to the far corner.

Here is the report from that game - http://www.ajax-usa.com/matches/01-02/1028.html

Man, I can't believe no one's mentioned this one yet. I only wish I could find a better recording of it.

Does anybody have Alexi Lalas's goal vs. AC Milan for Padova in 94-95?

Possibly the only YA goal in the Serie A.

What about all those goals Landon Donovan scored while he was playing for Bayern Leverkusen?

    Oh, wait...nevermind.

Damn! I'll bet that was quite embarrassing for the other team. Excellent shot.

(He was referring to Wegerle, not Mathis.)

    Deflection. Look at it closely.

    That was a great goal.

In a later game, Mathis also had about the hardest volley you'll ever see go off a crossbar. Its still traveling up as we speak.

His goal in february of that year, where he cuts the ball back brilliantly and sends an absolute screamer into the far 90 from 25 or so is better, as well. All of his goals were exciting. What was the total, six? Shame he fell apart, a lot of fun to watch.
