I wanted to remember our better days as LAG fans and winning teams... enjoy!!!!

We ended the 1998 season with 24 wins, 8 losses 2 shoot out wins for 68 points. Yah, 68. We lost the MLS cup that year playing in the Rose Bowl to Chicago in front of 52,000 fans.

    -10-10-1999 we had a 19-12 record w/ 3 shoot out wins for 51 points

Cobi Jones had 19 goals, 13 assists in 24 games. God thats sweet.

    - 5-10-2000 we had a 5-0-3 standing with 18 points (nice start to the season)

    - 6-18-2001 we had a 5-3-3 standing with 18 points

    - 9-11-2001 we had a 14-7-5 standing with 47 points with 3 divisions, east, central and west.

    - 9-5-2002 we had a 13-9-3 record with 42 points tied for first w/ SJ

Joe Cannon had a 1.03 GAA that year and Carlos Ruiz was the scoring leader with 20 goals in 23 games for us. In 2002 we already had Gavin Glinton and Matt Reis was still our backup GK!

We won MLS cup 2002..video highlights here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lA_pi5Se9UY

Then, it went downhill from there after we moved into HDC. We ended 2003 with an 8-12-8 record, second to last.

Although 2005 we won the MLS cup against NE. The road to get there had us beating Colorado 2-0 on Donovan goals, highlights HERE, and against none other than a bleached Joe Cannon. Highlights for the 2005 cup game RIGHT HERE.

Anyone else ever notice how little involvement the Galaxy "past stars" have with the organization ? Calichman, Caliguiri, Pena, Cien, Fraser etc... just don't get involved with the team much if at all. When you look at other teams seem their stars are still involved in some capacity.

Does LA just not care about them once their gone?

Are the players glad to be done with the Galaxy?

We were always one of the better regular season teams, who unfortunately had a chronic problem with losing to DC in the finals, but we were always competitive. Reading those names off in your guys entries brought back some crazy nostalgic memories. Well, at least we were good at one time (there are teams in MLS that haven't won squat). Hopefully we'll get back there soon.
