Seriously FSC! I'm truly appreciative of all the great footy I get watch thanks to your network. The EPL, Serie A and even weekly Argentine match and highlight show. However we are still missing what is possibly the most enjoyable and exciting league in the world, The Brasileirao.

Since GOL TV has given up their rights to this league it is undoubtedly time to bring it home to FSC. Please bring us a league where the champion is not already predetermined every season from a lot of 4-5 teams. A league where you never know who will be fighting the relegation battle every season, a league where you can watch the style of play that has produced 5 World Champions, a league where the best players on earth get their start!

Bringing the Brasileirao to FSC is something that wouldn't just be a great bonus for all the football crazies like me. It is something that is a must for the youth players of the United States. The ability for them to watch the most creative and fun league in the world on a weekly basis would be an incredible asset to the development of the game in this country. The speed of thought, improvisation and instinctual clinical finishing of the Brazilian game is exactly what is missing from our players at every level.

Please bring this league to us as soon as possible. One or two weekly games would be fantastic but I would definitely settle for a highlight show in the meantime. If you are an admirer of the beautiful game please sign on, kick this and help to bring such an exciting and passionate league into our homes!

    Cheers,

    Dave

I agree, and one other good point...they play throughout our summer, when the European leagues are on hiatus. But you have got to realize that GOLTV picked up the Brazil games after they were dropped by FSC, so I can't say I'm optimistic about them picking it up again.

So then is it the case that nobody currently has picked up English-language rights to the Brazilian league? I remember both FSC and GolTV having decent coverage at different points, but now it's totally gone.

I also agree that FSC should bring back the Brazillina League. LIke someone said it's excellent summer programming. Iread so many times in the summer how many people with dish and direct Tv cancewlled their subscriptions to FSC and then resubscribe a week before the EPL starts again.

would it not occur to them to maybe get some good summer programming? I never read about how people cancel subscriptions to GOLTV in the summer - because GOL has programming that makes the summer schedule go fast and the european leagues are back quickly. I know that the Brazillian league has started their own network, only available on dish and pparently only in Portuguese. would it kill them to put one of the games out for a wider audience each week? Maybe they could advertise on one of the soccer channels "if ypu waqnt more than one match a week get... network".

If I saw a league that is was unpredictable and produces exciting football I would want to see more. I think this thread should eb a petition and people should sign it so that one of the networks might see it and do something to get it back.

It's called PFC. I know it's available on DirecTV for $19.99 a month but I'm not sure about Dish. As you pointed out the coverage is completely in Portuguese.

Amen Simon. Let's kick it to the top people!

Also, if you would like to catch the highlights of Brasileirao matches you can wet your appetite at Globo.com.

I used to have Globo at my parents house when I lived with them but when I moved to an apartment they don't allow us to install the extra directv dish to be able to get the Globo and PFC feed so I have been on the internet trying to bootleg games off of websites just to see it live. I would love to see FSC and Gol TV get it back. I think the programming for both of these stations suck ass especially FSC programming. I almost cancelled my whole sports package because the two channels i wanted on there dont have the brazilian league. Besides, I am still thinking about cancelling the package. Brasileirão back please!!

I couldn't agree with this thread more. Please bring Brazilian football to FSC! This would be a great addition to an already stellar set of programming for FSC; more soccer from such a creative league during the slow summer months would be excellent! Bring on the beautiful game!

I agree, we definitely need coverage of the Brasilerao, but we also need Fortaleza back in the first division.

In the absence of the Brasileirao on English-language TV, the Copa Sudamerica currently has Brazilian teams facing each other in two-leg elimination rounds. The next such contests are next Wednesday (Sept. 12) where Corinthians are playing Botofogo at 8:30 pm ET and Vasco faces Paranense at 11:00 pm. Both matches are on Fox Sports en Espanol, with English-language commentary via SAP.

Well I don't have strong ties to any one club but I do have those I pull for regularly. When I first started watching the league Fred was really fantastic at Cruzeiro so I've always been fond of them. I really like to pull for Flamengo(in my avatar) and Gremio. I also admire Santos and EC Vitoria is a club I like which is no longer in the first division.

As a fan of the league with no native ties I feel like in a way I can sort of have my cake and eat it too. However I don't pull for teams from the same state. :D

It is absolutely absurd how Brazilian club soccer is not on FSC or GOl TV. We are talking about the most famous soccer country in the world here people! It is a very exciting league with lots of exciting players and for all you skeptics out there, let me just make a quick list of some players to recently kick off their illustrious careers (or soon to be) in the Brasileirao: Ronaldinho (Gremio), Kaka (Sao Paulo), Alexandre Pato (Inter), Anderson (Gremio), Robinho (Santos), Marcelo (Fluminense), Doni (Juventude), Julio Cesar (Flamengo), Diego (Santos), Luis Fabiano (Sao Paulo), and Vagner Love (Palmeiras) just to name a few... If channels such as FSC and Gol tv are going to broadcast club soccer from Uruguay, Colombia, Argentina and whatever other random central american country, than Brasil (back to back Copa American champs by the way) should definitely be on the docket as well. If anyone else needs anymore reasons for the Brasileirao to be aired just let me know, i got a whole list here.

While I agree with you in regard that the Brasileirao should be available on one of these stations, a couple of the other countries you mentioned are telecast for other reasons than audience or quality. Columbia is the only one of those mentioned that has a following that justifies its airing, due to the sizable number of Columbians in this country who follow their league back home. The other cases you mentioned however are due more to availability to their stations, than to their ability to draw a large audience. In the case of Argentina, FOX has an agreement with TyC Sports where they give them some events to show in South America and get Argentinian soccer to show in return. As for Uruguay, GoLTV was founded by a Uruguayan-based broadcast corporation called Tenfield, who are the parent company of GoLTV and also hold the commercial rights to the Uruguayan first division.

Not really. The last time I went to Brasil, I actually attended a game between Vitoria e Bahia in Salvador(end of April of this year). Rocking crowd, 6-5 result for Vitoria (i was supporting Bahia as I was there com uma amiga que apoia a Bahia). Of course those teams are not in the first division though. I did end up buying a Flamengo shirt while i was down in Rio, but I can't say they are my favorite either. Right now I'm kind of watching it dispassionately, but i'll come up with one team eventually.

I agree, the brasilierao should be available in the US. It may be difficult because Brazilian international channel Globo International shows some matches. I am not sure if any other stations have the rights. It would be great if FSC could show some matches
