Just embarrassing. Could we get any worse?

I knew all our missed chances in the first half would come back to haunt us. And I have given up on Landon after his second missed PK in as many games. Come on, man, you really need to step it up.

And the moment when Findley entered the field, I just knew he would bite us in the ass. Actually, he walked all over us as well.

I can't believe Lalas tried to make this team better by making all those bonehead moves before Beckham arrived. Now we're worse than ever before, and I hope he's happy about it. This team is complete shit...one of the worst MLS has ever had.

I'm sick and tired of losing and I don't really care how nice of a guy or how good of a coach Yallop is, I want both him and Lalas out as soon as possible, because, really, can anyone in their right mind say we are going somewhere with this set-up, injuries or not? Every team has injuries, that's just life. But nobody has as shitty a team as us.

Came back from the game. Surprised to see that the stadium was full to capacity. I am extremely dissapointed at the team. We had a couple of good chances during the 1st half but we screwed them up. Kudos to RSL's GK as he had key saves throughout the match. The LAG dominated the 1st half but then we allowed RSL to take over during the second half. Both goals were due in part by errors in the midfield and defense. The LAG tried their best to come back to tied the game but we couldnt even do that. Having said that, I am really looking forward for next year. Oh and Findley will be a LAG killer for years to come.

For 27,000 people I've heard more crowd buzz at a wake. It was like a library in there, except for the Riot Squad's singing of "Galaxy...Galaxy...Galaxyyyyyy" to the tune of the "Eye Of The Tiger" guitar riff. That was first class.

Just got back from the game.

Why do we keep going to these matches? Why do we all stand and cheer when the players start to come out of the tunnel? Why do we keep caring when it seems like this team, management, players...etc. don't give a bleep about the fans.

The first half felt real promising but it was like there was some afterglow left from the Pachuca match and the G's actually looked to be playing some entertaining football, but then sure enough the second half started and there is the same old Galaxy.

This season is obviously lost. A guy at the game suggested that they fire Yallop and have Beckham serve as player/manager for the rest of the season.

I don't think that we could do any worse.

    Just got home... That hurt.

Getting beat by Real Salt Lake is like having your little sister kick your ass.

The fact that it was Findley.... that was like a dagger to the heart.

The first 5 minutes I thought, "Man, we should win." Of course LA disappointed me. Unlucky that shots hit the crossbar, but my understanding is that Vagenas was to blame for turnovers that lead to both RSL goals. I really couldn't tell who was.

I'm disappointed, yet I'm not surprised, but it's frustrating.

I guess astrologists would say that the stars aligned and gave LA bad luck.

reading the in-game thread it seems Tommy Mack expressed to the FO some stuff We all feel. I would like to know exactly what TM expressed and it seems that Cannon had a stand off with LARS after his I wanna play in San Jose comments, boy has this season gone to hell in a hand basket.

I wish I could tell you what TM said, but we didn't hear all the individual words, exactly, as we were standing at our seats in 135 and he was over in 138. We got the general idea, though.

    He definitely didn't sound happy.

I missed what was said.. can anyone enlighten me?

what did LARS banner say with the blue writing on white backdrop? my angle from upper deck I couldnt make out what it said. They were nice and loud and helped the rest of us get into an otherwise suckfest of a game.

our guys really didnt do too bad the first half. i think the ref sucks more than anything. not calling an earlier PK chance, calling offsides a couple times when I clearly didnt see any. so we had some bum calls like always.

at least i got my lunchbox :)

I'd have to agree the reffing was close to the worst part of the game.

apparently wrapping your arm around Martino's middle and pulling him down after he beats you in the box isn't a penalty anymore.

When the RSL guy two hand pushes donovan away from the ref...that's not a card, either...

oh yeah, and when Gordon shoves back and the rsl guy jumps on the ground it's a card...but when harmse gets two hands in the chest from RSL it isn't.

accidentally running into eachother (Roberts)- that's only a card on the guy who doesn't get hurt.

and apparently mr referree was missing his own playing days 'cause he kept wanting to get in the middle of the passes...

blech. miserable. don't know how he still has a job.

should i still be excited about going to the game v. rapids next weekend?

what the hell, im still going with my wife. The only bummer is I finally convinced my sister-in-law to go to a game, (after the game v. NYRB), to spread the virus so to speak. now, i'm afraid she will hate soccer even more.

(i did promise to buy her a ticket to a game next season, though, as sort of a consolation prize for going to the game next week).

Pathetic game. All the kudos won by showing up against Pachuca are now blown. Back to being a pub team again. Seeing Findley score was bitter sweet as I never wanted him traded in the first place.

    DEAD MEN WALKING !!!

We really were not that good against Pachuca....their horrid shooting skills left us in the game after the first half. We should have been down 2-3 goals by then. The longer that happens the more another team has a chance to come back....it's a rule written by the soccer gods. We fought valiantly in the second half but our "soccer" was still not good.

We are a bad team that lacks fundamentals.

I posted this in the other thread:

    Last night was just classic.

When you miss countless chances to double your lead you know you are going to not win (You still shouldn't lose but oh well...)

Some rookies learned some hard lessons last night. Cronin was at least partly at fault on both goals (not so much the first but the angle he took to challenge findly was really poor). The second goal was him being caught in two minds about punching or catching and in the end he did neither.

And Randolph bears responsibility on the Findley goal as well. He took a god aweful angle to challenge findley. He was in a decent position to contain Findley and completely screwed it up.

    Players:

I like Klein offensively -He's added the spark we haven't seen since Albright and he is a far better crosser of the ball then Albright has ever been. I've enjoyed his overlapping runs the last few games. He's not a great defender however.

Donovan first half was great, he Looked pissed. He looked dangerous.

Gordon doesn't do enough good things in my opinion for his obvious flaws.

    Pavon/Buddle -Can't cut soon enough.

Martino -Didn't get the penalty last night because of the two dives he earned PK's on against chicago on the 4th of July. It was a clear penalty.

Vagenas -Bad turnover. Did anyone talk to him however? I was watching on HDnet and I was yelling at him on the screen about the danger coming.

Harmse -I like Keving, especially if he continues to improve.

Roberts/X pairing. Not fast enough in my opinion. We really need to add a speedy talented center back to pair with X

Jones was not as effective as he usually is coming off the bench.

What can you say after last night? Another kick in the balls. It's almost hilarious the way we conspire to lose. It would be funny if it didn't hurt like hell because of our love of the team.

I really think we need 4 players and thats all. All 4 must have pace. We need a striker, 2 wide midfielders and a center back.

I think we need these 4 players and a little luck to get a few results and turn the momentum tide. (I mean next season obviously...)

Your rant is great. Abby has always been a pretty bad ref. He always does something inexplicable - like the Martino PK non-call.

You reminded me - RSL plays all the horrible gamesmanship tactics that make watching a soccer game a misery. When the other team gains possession do one of these things. Pick up the ball. Throw the ball away. Kick it away. Stand in the way of the free kick. When you are taken off the field for a sub (I'm talking to you, Espindola) limp off like this is your last day on earth. God, I wish FIFA would do something about that stuff - why do they allow these idiot tactics to ruin a game? I think the Argentinian influence is being felt in Utah.

I was surprised to see the stadium as packed as it was, considering it was against RSL and considering Freddy Adu is gone. I guess they were expecting a win. I don't even care that we lost, because had they been able to scrape a goal the last 15 minutes, what good would a tie have been? We were supposed to win this game, to show us a sign that there's a light somewhere. We had a bit of a stretch against some "weak" teams and we should have been able to put a run together, of course they pretty much shot that one out of the sky yesterday. I don't even know when we're going to win a game again. The HDNET pre-game interview with Donovan had him stating that they're not concerned with points, they're more concerned with just winning and maybe finding some rhythm and feeling what's it like to win again. Too bad it wasn't meant to be. By the way, can someone email HDNET the new Galaxy logo.
