I love how sports columnists try and pain beckham as this negative story.
Is that how the U.S. sports writers play with words now days? they don't have enough negative stories to write about so they find the one positive that was going on in the sports world and try and play it as negative as possibly?

Just cracks me up. the latest yahoo column from "Special sports writer" is the most current that has no longer upset me. Instead, i'm laughing about it and so should you all and becks.

These guys all but say "Beckham went ahead and got injured again" like he did it on purpose. Or my favorite that apparently never gets old for these sports writers "Not what the Galaxy had planned when they invest 250 million into the athlete." When are they going to start doing research or pay attention to the sport before they start writing about the sport they know nothing about?

    1. He didnt cost the galaxy 250 million.
    2. the MLS has already made the money back in which they've invested in him.
    3. If anyone think's he's TRYING to get hurt so he doesnt have to play, you know nothing about the sport or the athlete in which you badmouth.

Beckham has always been praised from the times at Man Utd to Real Madrid to his service for England that he is a work horse and he will put his own health on the line in order to help his club and country. And that is a very unique thing these days in the sports world. Instead of worrying about your next big play, your only concern is your team. Instead of worrying about your own well being, you make sure your limp back on tha field to bleed your last ounce for them in order to help make a victory out of the night.

Beck's is one guy. But, even in this sport I think we can all agree that his affect on his team is always noticeable. Be it in a LAG uniform or a England uniform.

    That's my rant.

    Sorry, I had to vent.

Most journalists in this country hate soccer. I'm not sure why...

    There's something called jealousy.

How can you not expect them to be jealous from the best sport in the world?

never done anything but laugh about that sort of press. meatheads are meatheads, and they will always BE meatheads.

Beckham himself, on the other hand, is a great pro and an awesome example for players to emulate on and off the field, whether you like his playing style or not. even Cleatus was inspired.

Most don't get it or even try to understand it. It's just that they were raised on American Football and Baseball.... soccer is foreign to them. But give it some years and we'll get more soccer jounalists there.

you can say david beckham is a committed player.. but to what cause?

i dont think that he would be pushing this hard to make a comeback if he already had his 100 caps.

Yes that was indeed a rant with the majority of it making no sense at all. I've only been posting here on the site for one day & it's hard to believe all the pointless threads & post about Beckham but you have taken it to a new strange level. What fuels you to write such pointless rants about the guy? Are you in love with him? His press agent? What? Why on earth would you think anybody in their right mind would care about all these so called Beckham facts your foaming at the mouth about? Your a very strange person to be so caught up in another person like you are. Beckham doesn't need you sticking up for him & I think he could care less what anybody thinks. He's made his money. Life goes on. You need to get a life of your own. Give it a rest.
