    Jaime answered me!!

Me: Do you see yourself still playing next year with DC? And if you were to retire would you take some kind of position with the DCU staff?

Jaime: I gotta see a lot of things first, and I want to finish my career here. Anything could happen, but so far, I think I'll be back. If I do retire, I'd love to be a coach. I don't know where, but I'd like to start.

    Ask and ye shall receive

Welcome to The Show! On Thursday, D.C. United forward and MLS all-time leading scorer, Jaime Moreno, will join us to talk some soccer.
Moreno recently collected his 109th goal on a second-half penalty kick in United's 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls. Widely considered to be one of the best players to ever play in Major League Soccer, the 33-year-old is third all-time in shots on goal (346) and fifth all-time in game-winning goals (24). He is a six-time all-star (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2006) and five-time member of the MLS Best XI (1997, 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006).

Moreno and company head to FC Dallas on Saturday to take on the Hoops (8:30 p.m. ET, MLS Direct Kick).

Send in your questions now and join Moreno on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steven(Smithsburg, Maryland: Do you see yourself still playing next year with DC? And if you were to retire would you take some kind of position with the DCU staff?

Jaime Moreno: I gotta see a lot of things first, and I want to finish my career here. Anything could happen, but so far, I think I'll be back. If I do retire, I'd love to be a coach. I don't know where, but I'd like to start.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama): Jaime, If you could play somewhere in Europe where would you play?

Jaime Moreno: Spain, I'd love to play for Real Madrid.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike (Fredericksburg, VA): Who was your favorite DC United player to play up front with?

Jaime Moreno: I would say Raoul.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chico, Fairfax VA: Jaime, congrats on 109. The Barra is behind you all the way. Think you'll be seeing some more time with the Bolivian national team for WC qualifiers?

    Jaime Moreno: Yes, most likely.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Washington DC): What young player do you see as the future of DC United?

Jaime Moreno: Right now there are so many. The problem in this league is that there are so many trades and changes. You never know. Having so many young players, I don't particularly see any one being the one. Most of these guys are in their 20s, where they should be playing right now.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake (Philly): How do you think Beckham feels having come over here with all this hype and having not really lived up to it yet?

Jaime Moreno: I think everybody was expecting a lot from him, and he's been unlucky with so many injuries, which has taken him out of the game. You have to give him credit for the stuff that he's done; trying to play games from one day to the other. You do appreciate a guy who does that; perhaps somebody else wouldn't have tried to play those games.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maya, 9 yrs old (Urbana Maryland): How did it feel to score your 109 th goal?

Jaime Moreno: To be honest, it felt great, having a lot of people calling and congratulating me, but for the most part, just normal.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris Martin, Birmingham, AL: Seeing Donovan miss a HUGE penaly kick last night, what has been the "biggest" penalty kick of your career? (excluding your most recent)

Jaime Moreno: 2004 playoffs, to win it.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt (Minneapolis MN): What do you think of DC United's chances to win it all, especially with the stiff competition in the East from RBNY and the Revs?

Jaime Moreno: That's what we're working for. I think everyone has a chance, you just have to play it game by game.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris Martin, Birmingham, AL: How many more years do you see yourself playing in MLS?

Jaime Moreno: I don't see myself ahead of time; I just go day-by-day and see how I feel. I'll play as long as my body takes all the banging and as long as I'm still enjoying it.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brendan (Philadelphia, PA): Adu bounced himself from DC to Salt Lake and on to Benfica. The Benfica move seemed to be a positive one until the coach who brought him there was shown the door. Do you think Adu has the intestinal fortitude to make the Benfica situation work?

Jaime Moreno: Well, we hope so. He has a great opportunity right now, and he's learning what football is all about. He's got all the talent, he just needs to work in little things that will make him better as a player.

Jaime Moreno: Thanks for the chat!

Am I alone in thinking this wasn't a real positive answer from Jaime? "hope"? Learning about football? He's got the talent, he needs to etc.? Alot of subtext there.

Nope. I basically read it as: Good luck kid, unelss you put aside the ego and get a work ethic they're gonna find some other "hot new kid" and you'll be playing small league ball all your life.

    OK.

Huh? I just got whiplash. You say no, and then you go on in your interpretation/translation to bash Freddy.

So I'm gonna take that as a yep, rather than a nope.

No kidding. Thankfully, Carroll buried his and Dempsey didn't, or he might have repressed that one.

I believe the 'Nope' was in response to 'Am I alone...?'
