I don't know about the rest of the Rovers supporters, but I feel SO much better about our team after seeing them in the past three games. There is some real chemistry about our starting 11. Now, I hope that injuries and the amount of matches don't get in our way, but at the outset, I am optimistic. And for those who have seen me post, you know it's hard for me to get optimistic.
I don't feel good about our 1-1 loss to Everton. it should have been all three points, and Everton is the kind of team we need to stay ahead of to get into Europe. I feel happy with the lineup, though, to answer your question.
its early days yes we should have got 3 points and taken our chances when they came but we will learn from it but id rather be up there than down at the bottom like we were last season the player that has most impressed me has been dunny i think he has been outstanding and touch wood getting back to his best.
I think they're alot of fun to watch. Some great chemisty between MGP, Santa Cruz, Dunn, etc. Samba appears to be a revelation in the central defense, and should hopefully get better when Nelsen comes back. The key now is getting Benni back to scoring goals like he did last season. Kind of invisible against the Toffees. Nonetheless, this team has the talent, managing, and chemistry to pick up a Top 6 finish, and even make a decent run in this year's UEFA Cup.
As I mentioned in another thread, the only things that will keep this team from fighting for their rightful place in Europe are games against the likes of Sunderland and Derby. We're good, but we need to show it consistently and not play down to the level of lower competition.
Seems like losing to the worst clubs in the league has been our downfall in the past two years. We take points from Arse, Chelsea, and ManU, but fall against Watford and other teams at the bottom. Think that falls on Hughes?
It could, but I'm pretty hesitant to put the blame on him. Maybe I've been drinking too much of the kool-aid.
I think the team has definitely upped its depth and talent this offseason. Hopefully that will cause some of those missteps to go away. It seems Everton might be the team Blackburn is battling for that 5th or 6th spot, IMO.
Well really, it could be any of the teams that could challenge for UEFA Cup places this season. Pompey look good. Spurs look good. Villa under Martin O'Neill will be up there, probably. Sunderland may have a bash at it - ditto Reading. Who could forget Man City? But I reckon on paper, Rovers look superb. Strength in depth is the name of the game nowadays, if you want to ride high in all competitions entered. Revelian
