Excluding the fans, which member of LA Galaxy off this list do you feel has had the worst experiences on Galaxy this season (only including Galaxy-related play or FO) You only get to choose one of the five: Landon Donovan: Missed the game-winning PK at Superliga in front of two countries David Beckham: Overused on both sides of the pond; playing in pain; sellout crowds paying to see him play can't because he has to recover Joe Cannon: Many goals concieved was due to a completely injured defense, but he's the one that gets the credit for giving them away Alexi Lalas: Built a team to see them suffer from a condensed schedule, plus his words at the beginning of the season are catching up to him. Frank Yallop: Coach under fire for not training his team to win, when he has no time in the schedule to train the whole team together, plus over half his starting roster is injured at a time, and the media's calling for his job.
Cannon and Becks. Becks for his heart, Cannon for saving our asses from even more humiliation. I really hope AEG learns their lesson with this. The Galaxy brand has a bad rep around the world right now. They can't afford to just lose and rake the money in, it wont be long until it all backfires on them. They need a winning team.
Eff them all. Save this fanboy shit for the LaLaGals forum. If you're really a fan of Houston you wouldn't care if the Gals bus crashed off an overpass onto a fuel tanker.
Yo, I'm H-town 'til I die. But real recognize real. Some of those guys on that team are in a situation that they really can't control, and that's not very enjoyable to watch. As a Houston fan, I'd love nothing more than to beat Galaxy on the field while they're at full strength, just like anyone else, but maybe that's just a Texas thing; I dunno.
Landon Donovan? Seriously? Someone actually voted that they "feel sorry" for Landycakes? What a joke.
I remember Lalas saying the Galaxy were going to be the first American superclub which would rival United and Madrid, he is useless, as is the coach
Who's had the most difficult 2007 season on Galaxy? and Who do you feel for the most on Galaxy 2007? are two very different questions.... I'm not sure where to begin. I'm not sure I feel for any of them. Each player can only be accountable for their individual performances. I don't feel all of the players have performed to the best of their abilities, but I feel that is their own fault. Lalas is a joke and Yallop might as well not show up. They have all created their own difficulties and problems.
Who cares, LA deserves all the negative karma they get heaped upon them. Alexi "LA is one of the best teams on the planet" has simply lost the plot. No-heart Laddy is over-blown. The "Becks Factor" is losing traction before it got off the ground. Although, I might have to go with Yallop, as I think he's likely a class act. Another year missing the playoffs for LA. Ah, it makes me warm and fuzzy.
All the pub teams that get compared to the Gals.... Actually, sitting here in Direct Kickville, I just wonder what goes through Beck's mind. We've all had jobs that we hated and dreaded going to everyday......and he's got five more years of it.
Joe Cannon-He has saved their A$$es more times than none, he has given the team hope when they were losing one-nil, and Joe would make an excellent save. Beckham not so much, it is the entire Galaxy team/orgainizations fault for putting such a bad lineup on the field. David Beckham has to play more for that team to look even close to a MLS club-which hard to do...
Well the subject question and the poll question are two different things. Player I feel most for is Cannon. Who's had the most difficult (ie: worst) season is Lalas.
Recently I've been noticing a lot of shared sentiments between fans of clubs who hate one another... and quite frankly... it sickens me. I think I need to go punch something.
Joe Cannon. It's not his fault his defence is complete crap. Beckham? No, I feel nothing for Beckham. I don't want to sound like an asshole but I feel that a lot of the crap he's getting is a bit deserved. No one in their right mind would make the jump from the Spanish Primera to the MLS without a real reason -- wanting to make soccer popular in the United States is bullshit, and everyone knows that. He came here for the money and now he's "getting it" for making such a dumb decision.
I thought that most of the money Beckham is paid is from having his own image rights, so it actually only costs the Galaxy £5,000,000, thats not that bad
Joe Cannon more than anyone. He kicked a lot of ass in there will little help from his team. Beckham somewhat, only because he got hurt right before he was off to play for England again. I don't think he ever expected LA to be as bad as they have been this season. Klein because his beautiful one in a thousand freak goal was in vain. Lalas can go to hell and so can Dovonan with his hand kissing BS. Houston, because LA couldn't carry the flag and secure the trophy for the MLS as a whole. At least none of the LAG PKs were as bad as the Ngwenya chip, unless you count Xavier being totally off target, but he's no striker anyway.
as a united fan, i could care less, screw the gals as a usmnt fan, i could care less b/c becks/xavier play in uefa, and both their nations are having a tough time qualifying for europe (portugal tying armenia? my heart was broken!), and i hate landycakes with a passion, if he only wants to "show up" every now and then, F HIM, you're a paid footballer, show your all every single game, if you need an example, i give you ben olsen, craig waibel, and your teammate joe cannon however, as an mls fan, the hope is that the galaxy don't go to shambles, cuz it means more media coverage and it means more $$$ into the league at the same time though, the most succesful teams in the league right now aren't using dp's or spending money left and right, and have some awesome on field quality and a great fanbase, so again, i could care less as for beckham, he seems a bit suprised by the physical play of the league and superliga, unless he was expecting everyone to give him a halo cuz of his injury which is such bullshit, something those bigheads across the pond should think about when criticizing our young league
I agree! It would have been nice to see him win at least one championship this year. He played pretty good last night too.
To me, it's just excessive, cocky, and a little queer (queer as in 'strange'). He's a good player, but he's not so good I will excuse his silliness, not that he needs my permission to be silly.
All this, "I can't root for the Galaxy because I'm an {fill in the blank} fan" is ridiculous. Aren't we all complex enough to be able to separate one league from another? In Superliga, I root for the American teams. I am a Fire fan by location, but was a Galaxy fan last night--because, dammit, they were representing MLS! In MLS league play, I hope they lose every game.
