are you sure you didn't mistake Chris Albright for Gray? that's who was in the suit, w/blonde curly hair, standing next to Beckham after the game.

we were both right - live, I'd only caught a bit of that postgame shot, just looked at the tape and Kelly is in it too, on right of Beckham, giving Landycakes a neck rub. Chris Albright was to the left of Beckham.

I agree. The entire first half was embarassing, but the 2nd half was beautiful pure attack, and that goal really put them on the map until Donovan demised at the end. I'm pretty sure Superliga next year will be crazy.

Ha, ha, I went to bed just before the LA goal, I was afraid they would score and I really didn't want to deal with that. I had to get up before 5, so midnight was about the latest I was going to make it. Thank god I didn't stay up, I'd be dead right now. :D

If the idiot ref would have only yellow carded Ianni instead of throwing him out on a red, I think we would have won that game against Pachuca.

It goes to show you that we don't want to take Pachuca to extra time anymore, they are four for four against MLS teams.

Calero irritates me as well, very low class with all the taunting and mouthing. Very poor sportsmanship.

This was quite the exciting game, and damn that Pachuca keeper is something else. He made up for all of his defenses mistakes. I am glad that in the end they won, because it would have been a shame for a performance like that to not result in a victory, he was unbelievable.

im not sure i follow your logic.cannon was far more deserving of the win than the Pachuca keeper IMO.

that was one of the most exciting and dramatic games i have ever seen.and yes im a dynamo nut but i rooted for LA because they represent MLS.I wanted them to win in the worst way.

I cannot believe how poor of a player this Gordon guy is.I dont know anything about his background but he has the slowest feet and worst ball skills i have ever seen in top flite soccer. How did he ever get in MLS.Hey Gordon the object of the game is to avoid the opponents keeper when you head the ball towards goal not to head it directly at him chest high so that he doesnt even have to move.....good grief.

LA played with heart and passion against a far superior team and stayed with them until the bitter end.

one thing you can easily see from Super Liga and MLS matches is that the American players still lack the finishing skills of other players. We have the athleticism we have the desire and heart. We have the fitness but we just cant finish....Pachuca missed several chances as well but that is the exception rather than the rule.

IMO Joe Cannon played a heroic game. One of the best Ive seen by a goalie. It was unreal all he did.

    I wish Yallop well .

I think Becks has brought attention to our league but our teams and the games have been what has been stood out to me.This game is an instant classic if I ever saw one.Any human being with a pulse who saw that game who cannot honestly say that soccer is an exciting and captivating sport to watch is either lying or mental.

way to go LA ..way to represent.........

    now comeonyoudynamocomeonyoudalglishandcomeonyouseasiders!!!!!!

Besides Beckham getting hurt here is the saddest part last night's game.

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5094482.html

Attendance was capped at 12,500 in the 27,000-seat stadium to limit traffic and ease parking problems for students in their first week of fall classes at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The school shares its campus with the Home Depot Center. As a result, the upper deck and north end zone were closed.

Well I did say it would probably be either 4-0 to Pachuca or 1-1 and then Pachuca would win after extra time or penalties.... :D

I thought LA improved after Beckham decided he needed to get an injury. Pachuca though should have had the game won by half time, but fair play to LA for their 2nd half performance and for battling it out right to the end.

Great job by the LAG. They represented MLS well against one of the best clubs in the Americas. Pachuca keeps on winning trophies, but the Dynamo (twice) and the LAG showed well for MLS.

I hate the way that the Univision nets now present games. They didn't used to put as many overwhelming graphics on the screen, but it's gotten really out of control over the last couple of years. It's ridiculous to take up the entire screen to show stats during the run of play.

And their obsession with replays is preposterous. This is soccer. You can't keep showing replays after every marginally interesting play. They would break away to multiple replays even as clear attacking chances were developing live. At one point, Pablo Ramirez just kept calling the game and ignored the stupidly timed replay.

Of course, if ESPN did any of those things, everyone would be screaming bloody murder and complaining that we need to bring in some people who have actually watched a soccer game to direct these broadcasts. I'm not trying to excuse some of the stupid stuff that ESPN has done in the past, but they've at least stopped doing some of it. The Univision nets now have the worst presentation of a soccer game on TV that I've ever seen from a network based in the US.

Oy, I went to sleep at half time and missed the best part of the game. Oh well, I'm glad LA played well and represented the MLS. They must need the motivation of a $1M prize to put forth their best effort because they really haven't looked good in league play!

I hope Becks is OK. My immediate reaction was that he tore his ACL and would be out for the rest of the season. I know he's getting paid a ton of money but no one should have to carry the burden he's been given, IMHO. Not only does he have to be the savior of his team but the face of the league. They need to rest him and make sure he is completely well before he plays again (including national team action.)

I disagree, I thought the Pachuca strikers missed a lot more than Cannon saved. I am not trying to take anything away from Cannon, I am just saying that the Galaxy had several great strikes that were on target that were saved in fantastic fashion.

I think if the Pachuca offense would have just put a few more shots on target they would have easily won the game, on the other hand it seemed to me that nearly all of the Galaxy's opportunities were put on goal and it took the keeper to stop the shots.

I hadn't intended on watching the game but ended up watching the whole thing. I was pulling for LA and jumped off my couch and said "wow!" when Klein hit that bicycle.

Both teams deserved the win by the end of the game. I hope Beckham's not hurt too badly.

Pachuca forwards missed like 3 wide open shots on goal. Beck will be fine this maybe the best thing that could have happen it will keep becks out for 4 weeks and ready to play in Houston to a sold out crowd.

And another thing that annoys me is the way they show the lineup during the game, with the live action in a picture in picture that's almost too small to see. And they hold it there for way too long, you don't need to look at the lineup that long. It's all frustrating when you're trying to watch the game.

I thought Pachuca played pretty sloppy last night, they kept missing passes and really failed badly on their finishing. I kept writing last night that they looked like they were copying the Dynamo on their finishes. It's hard to tell, but it seems like they played much better against the Dynamo.

The other thing I saw last night was how much better our crowd was, not necessarily in numbers, but in numbers of Dynamo fans and how we wouldn't let Tuzo fans out yell us. That must have really sucked for the LAG. I would have thought they wouldn't have that problem, since they limited the tickets and season ticket holders should have had first pick.
