Big game - away to one of the competitors for the Supporters' Shield. What you need to know Where: Pizza Hut ParkRFK Stadium When: Saturday, 9/1, 8:30 PM ET TV: TV: DK, CSN, MLSLIVE.tv Radio: 1160 AM (Eng), SRN VAMOS UNITED!
Benny and Luciano should both be in the lineup. Which greatly improves our odds. Who will Dallas be missing for this one? Will Denilson be playing?
Dallas awaits Denilson's work visa before he's eligible to play. No word yet on who they're moving, and where, to make room for him. Very dangerous team. But of course, nobody here needs to be reminded of that after the three goal comeback against us at home, dammit. I always want all three, of course; but a point here would be a good result, I think.
Where do you get that Emilio should be in the lineup from that? He's just been cleared to practice. All it says about this weekend is that Tommy et. al. would llike to have him available.
FC DALLAS OUT: FW Roberto Mina (R knee), FW Kenny Cooper (R tibia); DOUBTFUL: DF Michael Dello-Russo (R calf); QUESTIONABLE: MF Juan Toja (R ankle); PROBABLE: GK Dario Sala (L knee) For DC United, Brian Carroll will be out due to yellow cards accumulation.
Part the subheadline and part from what Olsen said on WPL a couple days back. Maybe he won't start, but I would expect him to see significant minutes.
Toja's absence from the lineup has hurt f*c* frisco. He gives them a physical ball winner/handler, and that is quite valuable (see shirley joseph or mastroeni). Without Toja, put the hammer down on Alvarez, stay alert with the anchovy and take a few long shots over sala's head (he loves to play off his line). Watch out for Ricardinho and McCarty (not necessarily in that order) and take off the lead boots if Oduro plays. Dallas has a lot of speed. DC United has a lot of trouble handling speedy teams who can complete their passes. DC probably plays conservatively with a counter emphasis for offense. If we finish, we win. If we don't, hope for a draw. Dunno who the blind guy in the center will be. GM
Maybe I'll regret it later but I'd like to see Denilson make his debut against us. Agree that a point is probably a good result for us. I'm hopeful that Emilio will play if he's returned to "regular training".

Only one thing needed to motivate this team for this game and that is payback! They need to attack they way they did in the first game. Simms needs to relentlessly hound Toja if he plays. Carroll was no answer for him in the last game.
Done. http://www.worldcupway.blogspot.com/ Not sure how much of an advantage it will be having him after just a week with the team stilltrying to get in shape. Should be exciting at least. At present we have more Brazilians than you but I think Saragosa will be gone tomorrow unless Ruiz's green card comes through in the night.
I've just realised the parallel with this game and another sport also called football. Maybe I can convince my dad to watch...
Our offense should be Gomez and Fred running the counterattack, Emilio playing the offsides line and Moreno holding the ball if and when it ever gets to him. And that's it. I wouldn't send anyone else into the attack much, not even Olsen who should play deep especially if Denilson starts.
What match? Is that part of the conspiracy theory that also involves something called the 2000-2003 seasons?
Awesome. I just spent 6 minutes checking out Carlos Ruiz's luxury apartment. I found out that he loves the Simpsons -- Homer especially, he's the best -- and he has a lot of juice in his refrigerator. He considers Chris Albright to be practically a brother, and he treasures his Amado Guevara Metrostars jersey. Oh, and he has a picture of himself getting his bicycle kick goal against us at RFK. Strangely, I actually kind of like him more after watching that. Of course, I couldn't have liked him any less.
Marcelo Saragosa was waived to make room for Denilson: http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20070831&content_id=114875&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp Steve Morrow says he might be coming off the bench tomorrow:
I say we take it to them. Screw counter attacking. Make them defend. Simply stated, DC United is a better team than FC Dallas. We attack, we score, we score some more, and then we win.
Forecast calls for a high of 91 in Dallas on Saturday, so it should be in the mid-80s around game time. Almost no chance of rain. Not too bad for this time of year.
Well Denilson has a reputation of a great dribbler whose not much of a team player. So practicing with the team might just screw him up! As others have posted, it's always handy to have the Redskins - Cowboys rivalry in reserve if there's any need to stoke the motivation. Personally I hope we knock that punk Staubach out - his backup couldn't possibly be any good...
